| Good Wet Fun With Isabell Yesterday afternoon my wife and I decided it was time to open the pool. We rarely take Isabell out back because she cant seem to stay off the pool cover. So with both of us out there, we took Isabell along. Needless to say this day was no different. After several warnings to stay away from the pool she earned herself a time out in her crate. Mean while we continue to uncover the pool and turn on the equipment for summer. Well after about 30 minutes of Quite crate time and pool uncovered we decided to give her another chance. This time a much better Isabell has come forth. She's playing with her toys and not my toes, feet or legs. This lasts for about 30 minutes till she decided to come running over to see what's so important that mom or dad isn't playing with her. Well 16lbs running full steam on those big clumsy paws don't always stop as planned and this time was no exception, She trips at the edge and in she goes. Lucky for her and us she right in front of us. Just like a bobber her little hat surfaced and we plucked her from the water wife screaming, Isabell Refreshed from her quick dip on a hot day. Unbothered by this excitement we towel dry her off and back to her crate for napping she goes. Today we went to the vet and had a fresh hat put on and Monday they are taking out the stitches. Sounds like punishment enough to me...... |

| Dogs and water are such fun (not that my 2 year old has ever tried swimming!) Just curious, though--anyone know at what age puppies can learn to swim?? |

| All I can say is that she's adorable! If she is like my Doberman puppy (9 months old) she is going to love swimming!

--anyone know at what age puppies can learn to swim??
| My Jackson is 16 weeks on sunday; We (both he and I) found yesterday that he knows how to swim. We have had the pool open for only one week, he has gone up there with us everytime, all was well. until yesterday. I decided to jump in for a quick cool off;swam to the far side of the world..I mean pool and hear this KABLASH!!!! Turn around and Jackson is totally underwater. I started to freak, but did not want to scare him any more than he already was. I got to his side of the pool in a flash! Poor guy's head popped out of the water, eyes as big a saucers - feet just going! He swam towards me at first, and I turned him around and let him swim toward the steps. He got to the steps, walked up on the deck and turned around like " wow!!" what just happened mom?? I am glad neither one of us spazzed out becuase I don't want him to be afraid of the water. Would rather he learn to walk down the steps into the pool instead of doing his verson of a cannon ball! Yes, mom learned a big lesson yesterday - you can bet I will keep a better eye on him! ~ I had no idea he would just jump in! New mom mistake! |

| I cant wait for those ears to heal. So I can teach Isabell that I dont mind swimming just exit at the steps. Not up the side of the liner. |

| Ooo.. Funny story now. Probably not at the time though. Mine will not even go near water so I dont think that they would even have a chance to slip and fall in anywhere cause they would go no where near it!!
Your pup is SUPER cute!!! |

| you are right about that ~ those nails would definately do some damage to the liner!
How did the stitch removal go? I bet she is glad to have her hat off. |

| The removal of the stitches went great. She was just getting use to that hat. Tomorrow she gets her ears wrapped and that will be something new for her to get use to. She'll probably hate us when this is all over with. |

| Never!! glad it went well; I bet she will adapt pretty quick. How long will have you to wait to introduce her to the pool? |
