Isabell's progress and Treat question

Our precious little girl Isabell is 10 weeks old tomorrow, We feed her Canidae ALS. She has been with us for 2 weeks 3 days. She weighs in at 16 pounds and stands about 16in at the withers. She pees and poops on command, Know her name and pretty much will come when she is called. All of this done without treats. I would like to start teaching her other things now like walking on a lead, sit, shake, lay down and stay. So now for my question ??????? Do you think she is progressing normal and should I introduce a healthy treat to aide in her learning? If so what are some treats your precious babys will do anything for?

Oh one other thing that I think Is impressive... If I let her out before bed (Around 10pm) she will sleep in her crate all night (till about 6am)

That is great that she is doing so well. Keep up the good work with her!!

As far as training treats go... I use hotdogs (yuck, I know) but the dogs LOVE them. I also use pieces of chicken nuggets, Tiny pieces of string cheese.

Store bought treats... Zuke's Mini Naturals, Freeze Dried Liver treats, and Bil-Jac treats. They love em

Good luck.

Oh also........a REALLY good training treat....
!! AFS-Real Food for Real Pets !!

The beef nibblets. My dogs go crazy for them. They don't like the chicken ones as much, but they love the beef ones and also the tripe nibblets. One bag lasts a long time also.

Sounds like she's doing fantastic!!!! You could continue just training her the way you have, and then if you feel she's not responding as well for some reason, then you could introduce treats at that point.

Training with praise is my intension BUT there is one thing thats really bothering me I CANT get her to walk down the drive any further than are wood line. She don't mind walking towards the house, she just don't want anything to do with walking away from it. If I carry her through the woods to the end of the drive she will run all the way back to the house with or without me. This makes it very difficult to take her on walks.

Get treats, get her on leash, and go for little short walks...this will teach her how to go on a lead(important) and you can go for forays into the woods a little bit.

Yeah, she's just young .... just walk her where she seems comfortable right now, I think she'll loosen up soon enough, and you'll have a hard time keeping her from running off, LOL, try not to worry.
