I used to give Grizzly Salmon Oil to mine on top of their food for flakes. I have been using a product called Missing Link for a couple of weeks, and it helps with dandruff. I'm not sure they make a dandruff shampoo for dogs or not. How often do you bathe your pup? Bathing a lot will dry their skin. I use baby shampoo because it is gentle and tearless, but I don't bathe mine real often.

Is he itchy too? When you say dandruff, do you mean peeling flakeing skin or just like a 'grey' dust that appears on the surface of the coat?

OK, first off DON"T bath him. It will only dry out his skin and coat more. Keep him on the same food for awhile longer as sometimes a food change can make it worse. See if you can find a good quality fish oil supplement to add to his food, salmon oil is usually the best. Make sure he has fresh water available at ALL times. Grooming is the best way to improve the blood circulation to the surface of the skin, which in turn will help the oils come up to. I usually just use my finger tips and hands to 'brush' my dogs. I just 'ruff' up their coats {outside is best} with my fingers, just like a brisk massage, and then wipe them down with my hands or you can purchase what is called a grooming mitt {it is like a big rubber mitt that you put your hand inside}. Do this every other day and I bet you will see a big improvement in no time. If the skin is really dry you can dip your finger tips in a good bath oil like Kerri lotion first, it will make the coat shine.

That is the name on the bottle. This conversation was in reference to washing your dog before showing it.
