I had gunnars ears cropped at 11 weeks old. I know a lil late but that was the earliest i could get it done. when the vet sent me on my way the next day he had foam inserts in his ears instead of being posted to a cup. well 10 days went by and he removed the stitches and posted gunnars ears for the first time. those posts stayed in for 3 days then i removed them and started doing the posts myself. i did them myself for a prolly about 3 weeks before i realized they were tipping in and i went straight for this website. I found out the were ear pockets and started trying to work them out. I did not know that he had pockets for about 5 weeks into posting when they were already formed am i now screwed or do you think they will work themselves out? he will turn 5 months old in 5 days. I know that you are supposed to tape until 6 months or after teething but i will not stop posting until pockets are gone. When i take his posts out now the pocket will be gone but in a bout 20 minutes it is creased again at the base of the ear. what i use to post is 1/2 inch back rod and i backwrap that and pull the ear tight and tape the tip first so it doesnt slide down. Then i backwrap a small 3.4 inch peice of backer rod cut in half and i insert it into the ear where the pocket is round side out so it pushes the pocket out. Do you guys see a problem with doing that? i know this is a lengthy thread but im worried for my lil guys ears any advice will help thanks alot and here are some pictures of the pocket.

Hmmm? It doesn't look too much like a bad pocket? Do his ears still tip in when he gets super-focused on something? His ears in the first pic look nice and straight?
no they do not tip in anymore and the pocket is alot less creased than it was and when i push it out it goes out and stays out but then it comes back in about 10 to 15 mins later.
I'll hope that one of the experts comment, but it looks what Jana told me was the good pocket that is necessary for the ears to stand. If so, you want it there. But they will know better than I.
