| | Lil Dog | Ear Regression I guess that's not a valid term but its one way to describe it.
I took her posts off and they stood good for about 3 days but then they appeared to be losing stiffness and becoming more floppy on the upper part of ears.
Is this normal at about 5.2 months? Left over teething maybe?
I put the posts back on out of worry. |

| My boy's ears didn't stand till 8 months!!!
The top part of the ear takes a while.. it happens. You should still be posting and try not to let the ears droop anymore. Let her air out for a day then back up.
I learned the hard way, we stopped posting (too early in hindsight) and now Lukas' right ear tip isn't fully straight, but we love him anyway.

| Rule of thumb....post until teething is over and done with completely. Usually until around 6 months old. Some puppies are posted until they are a year or older. Petey was around 7 months and then we used the breathe right strips until he was 10 months.

| I would have recommended reposting had you not all ready stated you had done that.
Teething can impact ears standing, so that could be part of the issue.
Of my 5, I can speak to 4 relative to ears. Shelby took almost 9 months for her ears to stand and the left was weak because the Vet cut too far into the ear cartilage. She had "okay" ears and both ultimately stood when she was nearing 3 years of age.
Cobra's stood from 4 months of age on.
Blaze took 7 months to be completely free of any support.
Ember's ears were fully standing at 6 months.
Every dog is a little different.

| At that age teething is still affecting the strength of the ear cartilage as calcium storage is being used for tooth development. Just keep posting!! |

| Our boy is almost 5 months and the posts came out for over a day and were perfect. Then I noticed on our last walk that the nips were too loose and flapping when he walked so I'm posting all the time again.
He only has one fang now and in the middle of teething so it will be awhile for me. |

Please tell tell.
And in reference to the original post, Navarre's one ear stands perfectly while the other stands for a short time and then folds in half.. LOL.. so he's often walking around with one ear up and one posted. Looks funny but oh well.. pressing on...

I know someone also posted pics of their use, but I can't locate them on a search.
I also used them and they worked really well!
