| | Big Dog | First Obedience class today ok so i just got back from our first puppy kindergarten class (basic obedience/ basic agility) and there were three other dogs there. so i get there and there is a huge great dane (frightened) who was scared the whole class. and then there was a little fu fu dog and zeus just wanted to play with her the whole time. he did very good with the tunnel and the hoop the jump trough. he also did well on the seesaw and the ramp ( ^ ) i was very pleased until she asked to have our dogs sit. he is so good at home with the sit command and then when i go to obedience class and he gets all excited he doesn't want to sit. i thought i was gonna be able to show off how good he is. excitement got the best of him today. just thought i would let you guys know... |

| | Lil Pup | Love your dobies name! My Zeus starts his puppy obidience class tomorrow. I have never enrolled any of my past dogs in any kind of formal training. I am looking forward to. Keep us posted as to how your Zeus is coming along with his class. |

But my advice would to be to make yourself the most interesting thing happening. Get some REALLY good treats (I always brought my own to puppy class rather than use what they had available), and acted like a loon most of the time. But hey, it kept his attention on me for a good portion of the class. |

| He's young but you can certainly start teaching "watch me" and treat. Get his absolutely most favorite treats and only use them for class. |

| | Big Dog | When I brought Kaizer to class, the first lesson untill the third he was just crazy. to him it was playtime and no treat in the world was good enough to get him to focus. Then i brought in peanut butter to class, peanut butter is his very special treat, so he started to associate that with better behavior at class and it worked like a charm. Puppie class is great for the basics and for your dog to get accustomed to other dogs and people. Kaizer starts the next level in 3 more weeks Ill see if the peanut butter theory works there as well.. good luck! |
