| Hi welcome to DT. Congrats on the upcoming puppy! Normally a good breeder has the ears done for you at around 7-8 weeks old and then sends the puppy home when the stitches come out and ears are posted at around 9 weeks old. Doing it on your own, you will have to be very careful to look for a good cropping vet, they are far and few in between. The closest one to you is down in NJ. We have had a bunch of new comers lately who's dogs got really bad crops by vets that have been cropping a long time. Just because they have done a 1000 crops does not mean that they know how to do a good one. Natural ears are so much better looking then a bad crop.
Good luck....if you want the name of the vet in NJ...I will find out for you and PM you with her number.
