| I would definitely use an E-collar to make sure that nothing happens to those ears while you are at work. He could be doing fine while you are home but get frustrated, bored, ITCHY when you are gone and start scratching. The larger crate will make life easier and it sounds like you already have the bathroom set up to leave him. I know how frustrating it all is - I have just been through the spay confinement with my puppy. Thank goodness I can let her "rip" now! Usually they don't worry with the ears much but boredom of being confined alone for hours can complicate things. Use good distractions like kongs, nylabones, etc.
