Our now 7 month old pup had one of those white and green dental ropes. I saw her chewing on it, I saw her ripping small pieces of string off of it. I figured, they're small strings, they'll pass through her system. We'll last week, she attempted to have a bowl movement. When she stood up, there was 6" of crap matted string hanging from her ass. My wife quickly went inside to get some paper towels and ended up pulling 18" of matted string & poop from her butt. My wife is still in shock over the event and just so I could fully appreciate the horrific event she took photos of this excrement and sent them to me.
We're relieved that everything passed properly, but she's no longer allowed to chew that toy for excess amounts of time.
Seems like anything of fabric material will only last minutes with her. She doesn't chew those items with her molars, she'll just stand on it with her two front paws and user her front teeth to pull apart fabric in one specific spot.
So now, deer antlers, which she does chew with her molars are the best thing happening and even they aren't lasting very long these days. She grinds them down quickly too. | This is a "Story of our Life" We also give our girl raw beef bones /ribs and bully sticks I want to try "Himalayan dog chew" |

| JB Toys makes a Whirly Wheel rubber flying disk (kinda a cross between a frisbee and a flying saucer). The material it is composed is pretty strong, I think the only toy that Dexter hasn't shredded. Can be found on pet.com Now Dex did manage to kill the squeeker thingy in the middle, but a fine throw and chew toy, this is awesome. |

| I ordered an Everlasting Bento (Beanie) Ball for Nova a few weeks ago. That thing is like doggie crack! She loves it. I was worried as she seems to have a sensitive tummy but so far so good. It has such a pleasant smell too... maybe I'll try it LOL.

| I agree that the Everlasting Treat Ball is pretty fantastic! The downside is that the treats themselves are kind of expensive (well, and provide nutrition akin to cheese doodles, but I allow a little bit of junk every once in awhile.) I've noticed that Clean Run has them for way cheaper, but seem to only have the Mediums right now, and we have the Large ball.
Also, the ball itself smells kind of like vanilla, which is a welcome break from some other smelly dog toys and chews that we're in possession of. |

| | Big Pup | I bought ivan one of the ever last treat balls and got a blue one. I ordered it and he ate the treat that goes in the end in about 20 minutes. Then he started chewing the edge of it off and ruined the ball to where you couldnt put a treat back in.
I got him another one and it was a large one also but I monitored him while he used it. Still he ate the treat in about 30 minutes but he didnt ruin the edges this time. I bought an extra treat but he has eaten it up also.
He is a heavy chewer and I cant find anything that he cant destroy. One thing about it.....He has some clean chompers. |

| | Lil Pup | kong wobbler and the everlasting toy My Daisy is scary intelligent. She watched us screw the wobbler shut and wedged it between the couch used her paws and mouth and got it open.
I figured the first time was a freak accident til she had it open within ten mins the next two times too. She then preceeded to chew it where it screws together so we couldnt put it back together. little ****. lol
The everlasting treat was a GOD send for about a month. Idk if we didnt put it in tight one day and she was able to get it out or she worked at it til she knew how to losen it. She can get that thing out in a half day max. I thought she was dropping it so I only gave it to her in the crate. Still ate it. Then I thought maybe it was getting loose or was to big bc her snout is about the size of the hole so i got a new smaller one. That one took her a day to figure out but same thing.
I am looking for any toy that can challange her intelligence that she cant break.
I want to do agility with her. she is soo smart. with clicker training she has mastered 5 new tricks in two days. idk. its scary sometimes to have them be so damn smart- total challenge to stay in control of her. |

| | Lil Pup | I haven't tried the everlasting treat balls mentioned above. Are they long lasting??? If so I should get that for Christmas for Lady. My major thing is getting a lasting chew toy for Lady since she destroys most of them. If anyone is starting out with a Dobe and needs suggestion for what toys to try, I've compiled a list of toys that I've tried that either worked or didn't work for Lady. BTW Lady is a MONSTER chewer: Types of Dog Toys that last for a PERSISTENT Chewer/Destroyer

| There are a few toys that we love. The Buster Cube saved me last winter bc I could put his meal in it and he would stay occupied for an hour trying to get it all out.
We also have that big tough dinosaur and he chews on it every day. He has bitten off the end of his nose and feet but it was not a problem bc the stuffing is really easy to take out. So ours is stuffing free on the limbs but you can't even tell since the material is so stiff.
My new favorite toy is the Ruffian fish. We have two and when we are outside he has to have one in his mouth at all times.
The laser pointer is always a hit but if we play with it too much then he gets a little too OCD and just stares at the walls for hours.
Lastly, I don't know if this qualifies as a dog toy but the garden hose is something that he absolutely looses his mind over. He gets so excited over chasing that stream of water that I have to stop him. It is almost like he has a panic attack that he can't catch all of the water. |

| The only thing my guys consistently pull out of their toy box is this: Invincibles Snake Dog Toy | Plush Dog Toys | Toys | Dog - ThatPetPlace.com
6 large squeakers, no stuffing (or very little) and can also be used as a tug toy
Gypsy can get the treat out of the everlasting treat ball in like 30 seconds. I still use the ball portion and just stick kibble and PB in there instead. |

| Duchess has 2 Omega Paws treat balls. I use a portion of her dry dog food to load them. She carries them everywhere even when they're empty-takes them to bed. I like them because she has to think how to move the ball to get the treats to fall out-keeps her busy for hours. They have them at PetSmart, Walmart, Zellers. |

| I was going to buy it, but then I read the ingredients I can't risk it with Chase's allergies.
Its quite entertaining to watch him play with his Spiky Yellow Thing. Its the only toy he will not destroy. He will carry it around, drop it from time to time, and push it with his nose to make it squeak. He will then whine, and grunt, squeak it again, then pick it up and carry it around. Its so funny
Here is the Spiky Yellow Thing $5 from any pet shop.
Pokey Pokey, lol
Sorry for the pic overload

Staring at the walls for hours is not a sign of mental health. I can usually identify the laser pointer obsessed dogs when they come into the store... focus on the floor, little jerky bobbing head movements that almost look like seizure behavior, hunting for dots and shadows and glints. It is very sad, and very preventable. Put your laser toy away permanently, please! |

| I know it's an old thread but I'm always looking for new chew items. One not mentioned here yet is the Hurley ~ Chew Dog Toys | West Paw Design
My male AB chewed on one for at least 3 months before it began to break down and those bully jaws are something else. Let's put it this way, those tire toys? He was through one of those and biting off pieces in two hours
As with any toy I recommend checking it daily for damage so that pieces are not ingested.

| Beau has the pickle by Starmark and it is great! It has slits in the sides so you can cram treats in there (and it would probably be great to put peanut butter in and freeze but we haven't tried that). Beau is really into dense rubber chew toys (kongs etc) so this is perfect...our neighbor has a boxer and that was where we saw the toy first (Beau stole it while we were over on a play date and knowing that Beau NEVER takes other dogs toys, we knew it was the toy of a lifetime haha)...anyway, here is a pic:

I got the Everlasting Chew from PetsMart, and the Kong Wobbler from Pet Valu. | My boy totally took the Kong Wobbler apart in a minute!! I have found that he has taken up a love with JW Pet's Derwin or as we call him Fred. He is a green frog that he takes everywhere with him. We have some spares on hand in case something should happen to "Fred" JW Pet is the maker of Good/Bad Cuz and he likes those too.
He also likes Deer Antlers. We got our first one during SS2011 on here and he loved it.
