Kim,
Chi seemed to scratch less and her coat started to improve within her first 2 weeks on SS - We're about 1/2 way through our second container and it's been about 6 weeks and I can really tell a difference. She still scratches some but nothing like before. When we started her coat was a 4 on a scale of 1-10 and I'd rate it at an 8 now.
I think SS has made the difference but to be honest it could be any number of things - the weather here has cooled off considerably and it's been fairly dry so that might be part of the success.

I agree with those of you who say it's just too much powder. I got to feeling like I was giving her a bag of crackers with nothing to wash it down! I've started mixing it with water - easier for her to eat and swallow.

It's good stuff Scoob. You will have to cut back on his chow as it puts weight and condition on. I would also make sure his leg is healed as it also will increase his energy level some. If he still needs to stay quiet you might want to wait.

I guess I'm the lone voice LOL........ I have not used SS myself. However, two of my pups who are now over 18 months old were put on it. One was taken off because of the high cholesteral reading he got at his wellness check (to be rechecked after he's been off SS for a few months) and the other red girl was breaking out in hives and pimples. The put her back onto Nzymes and her coat went back to normal, which is nice for a red LOL
I couldn't tell you why the boy was put on it, he has an amazing black coat, which he still has, and I see no difference in his coat now being off it for about 6 weeks.

I would never ever consider feeding this to puppies, but that's only my opinion.
I do have my guys, including pups, on Nzymes though.

secretz will become famous soon enough
I know everyone here seems to rave about k9 showstopper, but I'll be one of the first to go against the grain. I didn't see any improvement in my girl's coat or energy (she's hyper active as it is...I don't think I could handle any more of her excitement). Anyways, I had fed this stuff while my stepmom was starting to feeding chicken fat (mixed with kibble) to our older pitbull mix, whom of which had a horribly dull coat. Needlesstosay, after a period of time, our pitbull had a BETTER coat than my dobe pup. So I quit using k9 showstopper and started feeding my pup regular kibble with salmon oil.

As far as the farting deal. Even though they're pretty bad it's a bit on the inevitable side.
I've switched her diet here and there to try to curb the smell, but haven't found a solution yet.

I also took Petey off if it, and he lost 4 pounds in only 2 weeks. I'm going back to fish oil and lots of canned mackerel for now.

nope, it didnt do anything for my dogs - they loved the flavor (they eat anything, though) and it didnt do anything for their coats that their diet wasnt already doing!)
