| Some Riva Bitework Photos We have had some cold days the past few weeks, but have managed to do some work outside.
These outdoor photos were taken on January 1, 2013. Have to love how statutory holidays let us enjoy some daylight with our dogs.

| Great pics!! I lol though because I think after staying here in CA for the last part of the winter will mean I will ruin her for cold weather. Between these and the snow tracking video... I may never leave this state between October and April.
And yes... she is AWESOME! |

Great grips. | Thank you!
Riva is my first sport/working dog and I can't believe how much we love training in all three phases. We have met a ton of great people in the past few years and I think I can officially say I am addicted to working sports!
Despite the tremendous time commitment, it is a lot of fun.

And yes... she is AWESOME! | Riva has quite the extensive dog coat/jacket collection to survive Canadian winters but she sure does prefer the warm weather. |

| This is my first dobi and was wanting advise on training. I was told they have a natural instinct to protect. However I want to get some professional traning so it's done on command. Any advice on how to find a good trainer and what methods should I want in the training. |

Any advice on how to find a good trainer and what methods should I want in the training. | We are training for IPO which is a sport involving three phases-tracking, obedience and protection. I would highly recommend you look into joining a club near you. If you are in the United States you can look at these clubs: United Schutzhund Clubs of America - For the German Shepherd Dog DVG AMERICA Main Menu
Sport training is VERY different than personal protection training. But a club in your area may be able to advise you of a personal protection trainer near you. If you start a new thread with your location, you may be able to get some other ideas too.
Welcome to DT and congratulations on your new puppy! |
