| Jonesy's last trial of the year! We made our goal!
We made it to Excellent A, in Std and JWW!
Saturday, we started off the weekend great. He ran great really kicked off the weekend! He earned his Novice Fast title, got 7pts in T2B, and his first leg in Exc A Std.
Then we went to Jumpers and Standard (no video but a couple of shots I thought were really cool)
Jonesy getting small!
Lift off!
Sunday was awesome also! He got a Q in Jumpers his Open Title!!!! and Open Fast 1st leg, he actually got to run TWICE! More about that later with picture .
In Std he blew his contact on the DW, and I wanted to get his head to turn him, well I said "Jones here" to pull him to the correct obstacle, well Jones came Here all right, came right too me... Good boy lol... Darn you! After that I just was pushing him to the end and tried to see how fast he could get through the weaves, well we went too fast and he popped out of them at almost the end... Little too fast I guess, but I was just using the course as practice at that point....
But here is his Jumpers Title Run
Today was not so great he brought me back down to earth a little.
On T2B he knocked the 2nd to last bar, but it was my fault, I pushed into him to force him to the last jump and mid air he tried to compensate and dropped his foot. BAD MOM! (but look at those weaves!)
His standard run he blew his start line stay, didn't bother me sometimes it happens it wasn't bad, but I didn't call him to me... But then he bailed the teeter, one contact I typically don't have to baby him on... nope he bailed it, and that caused this....
This face says it all I think...
His Jumpers run HE did great! He followed all of my commands, too bad I ran the wrong course. It wasn't a really difficult course, but I got lost in a pinwheel and had the wrong out and didn't notice til Jones was facing the wrong side of a triple when he should have been going to the weaves...
Best photo of the weekend was this, we had to run our Open Gamblers course TWICE(well I chose to), because the timer forgot to start the time, it actually worked out for the best, because Jones got 78 pts (again because I was trying to push him fast through the weaves for all the points, he popped at the end)... His second run he got all 80pts! The first time he's ever got all 80!
All in all it was a great weekend!
So we will definitely be working some target contacts and start lines stays in the next practices......

Love the ribbons! What a handsome boy! | Have fun! That is my biggest tip. If you notice after most of my videos I am always happy no matter if he or I screw up... I do it for fun, and I keep it fun for Jones.... I don't want a dog that does agility because I want to do agility I want a dog that does agility because he enjoys it, and enjoys running with me.
I wrote this in the agility dobe yahoo group but I will post it here, because it kinda relates... Because Jones wasn't always this good...
"Two years ago when I first started Agility (he is my 1st dog/agility dog). I had no intention of ever getting as far as we have. Heck, I had a dog that really had no drive or motivation when we started. He didn't even care to run with me (he would have rather played with the other dogs in class then play with me). In a short few months I want to say 5 we started small with ASCA trials, and his first trial was HORRID! He didn't even care to run with me, he ran into the ring gate because he wanted to play with a dog he saw on the other side, I couldn't even call him back to me. But in two years, and in 6 trials he made it to Elite in everything. In the second year, we started AKC agility, and in 7 trials he made it to Excellent A in Std and Jumpers (FAST we have had some hiccups, and it isn't offered as much as the others).... My goal for 2012 was to make it to Exc. and I am thrilled we did it!"
This is the very first run of our very first trial EVER! This is the run I described in my email, and I think it is a great comparison to what he does now... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9kbVcITWlg
Teamwork and fun! I always keep it fun! Oh and never forget your foundation work...
*Else you will have the unhappy dobe getting picked up and carried off because he blows his contacts...okay maybe not picked up, but taken off lol*
