| Oh, forgot to ask. How did you perform the moving sit and down? Did the judge comment in any way? |

Because in the official rules it says you must come to basic position (ie a complete stop), this is what I did. He told me that was stupid and that I should've done a moving sit/down. I would've preferred to do it moving anyways, and he had quite a bit to say about it. The last two trials I was at, the way I did it was correct. Apparently UScA made it more 'optional' and up to the judge, but considering the judge arrived at the trial late and we never had an official meeting with the judge, I never got to ask him about this. So I found that pretty wrong, but whatever. Apparently that's something to ask the judge! |

| Hey, what did you have to do for the second phase of the BH (testing in traffic)? One of the things they suggest, leaving the dog tethered while the handler leaves, and having another dog walked by is something I know that Ilka would fail.

Anywho, every other legitimate trial I have been to has had some sort of tie-out where the handler leaves the dog and also some dog aggression tests. The dog aggression tests have ranged from walking by fairly closely and dogs must remain neutral all the way up to a judge grabbing two males' collars and pulling their heads together. It is up to the judge how they go about the temperament tests though.
ETA: For this particular trial, they had us walking in the parking lot in a straight line with a car passing, a bike with horn passing, and a jogger. Then one, by one they had us put our dog in a down, walk away 10 yards, and a group of about 15 people closed in around the dog. After the people were close enough to be touching the dog, the judge told us to call our dogs and the dog had to figure a way out of the circle.

| Getting Ilka's BH could be a long process is she's expected to remain neutral and ignore another dog while she's tied up with me out of sight. She could probably do that if I was holding her, but with me gone, not a chance.

| Asmit's right it really depends on the judge.
When I attended over the summer our judge had a pretty loose circle for the dog to get out of as far as the sit/down stay went, and the dogs where all tied in a row to a fence while one person walked a dog about 10-15 feet away in a line up then back down past the dogs, one bitch passed and she even stood up and looked interested but remained quite. The rest was all the same as asmit's experience.

| Well, phooy. If they did any of the other stuff, like the bicyclist, walking around cars, or even walking through a group of people, she'd be okay, but she's dog reactive.
