2013 Goals: for myself & Gemma

- Continue obedience Level 2 training
- Get CGC
- Start foundation work for tracking/nose work
- Start foundation work for agility training
- Attend agility classes in the spring
- Attend and learn from my local Doberman Club (VTDC) meetings (My first one is coming up, so excited!)
- Compete in the 2013 Green Mountain Iron Dog challenge

I don't have many goals, lol, given that most dog events require a long drive and more money than I can spend. .I cannot wait to have a real job!

My 2013 Goals

Delta
Qualify for 2013 Top 20 - done (the qualifying period runs May 2012 - April 2013)
Qualify for 2014 Top 20
Qualify for the 2013 AKC Agility Invitational (must be ranked in the Top 5)
Qualify for the 2014 AKC Nationals
Finish off MACH7 and MACH8, maybe more if her good health continues

Grace
Qualify for 2013 Top 20 - done (the qualifying period runs May 2012 - April 2013)
Qualify for 2014 Top 20
Qualify for the 2013 AKC Agility Invitational (must be ranked in the Top 5)
Qualify for the 2014 AKC Nationals

Get at least half the Double Q's to his MACH, hopefully more. He has 3 right now, and all (or nearly all) of his points.

My goals are pretty small and reasonable, I hope!

Pass the first ORT on birch in Nosework. If that goes well, and there is a trial sometime this year in our state, try for our NW1.

Richter:
Pass the CGC by the end of 2013. Start puppy agility classes.

Can't wait to see what 2013 brings!

Goal #1 achieved, Princess earned her third leg in Utility this weekend, she really surprised us with how well she worked. It was a three day show, not only did she qualify all three days but she also won all three days to end up with 5 Utility legs

Very proud of our girl.

Cash to get his IPO 2 and 3 although might be hard to accomplish both with me working so much now.

Covea to get her BH, maybe go and do her CGN and TT also.

I would be very happy if I could accomplish the above.

My only goal for Gracie is to get her ready for Rally Nationals in Tulsa.

She'd been retired for a year when I decided to teach her the new Rally stations 2weeks before a show weekend in October. 7 weeks later, the entire RAE2 was done. A little bit of a rush.

So, I want to spend this month and next really making sure her performance of the new stuff is up to par for Nationals. Not going for placements or anything - we'll be up against OTCH handlers and dogs a quarter of her age. But at 2 months shy of 10 yrs old, her littermates dying left and right, I am going to squeak out as much fun for my DRU girl as possible.

Goal #1- find a puppy!! Will make my other goals much easier ; )

Finish Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience
CGC by the end of 2013
and then.... Who knows? I want to expose/train the both of us in a little bit of everything, then find what we both are good at and maybe pursue it farther. So excited to start this journey!

PS... Good luck to everyone this year, can't wait to hear more about the wonderful things this breed can do!!

Goals for 2013:

Lucy:
Finish AKC CH (been singled out and working on those majors for a while now)
Obtain her CD title
Obtain her RA title
Complete WAE - would be so awesome if she could be a ROM
Continue building more drive and focus in obedience, confidence in her around distractions, and really strengthen her off-leash heeling.

I had entered us in Novice A at our favorite indoor venue next weekend but the show ended up making majors in conformation, and the ring times conflict. So we will not be able to compete in Novice A this round.

Gidget:
Establish a really strong agility foundation. We recently switched agility trainers and I am super happy with the new one so far and the emphasis he places on foundation work.
Work on puppy foundation training for future competition obedience
Pass CGC
Start showing in ASCA conformation; see if we can get a point or two by end of the year.

I'm hoping the agility foundation work I have started with Gidget and all I am learning, I can transfer over to Lucy and resume working her in agility too. But with her on/off agility training over the past 2 years she has a long way to go and I may decide to continue focusing more on ob with her. Will have to see how that plays out.

Cheers:
UD and retirement is her main goal
Rally titles for fun until the UD is accomplished.
She got 2 RN legs last weekend with over the phone coaching only!

Wallace:
CDX
NA and NAJ by the end of the year
He may have to do Rally since Cheers is. Good practice for me!

Julian:
Championship or at least a good effort with points accumulated
Being a puppy and enjoying puppyhood

Rexy:
Lounging on the couch and going to the barn
At age 10 he can do whatever he wants!

Not so much of a wish list as it is a brag! Today Diego and I competed for our FIRST time in Rally Novice A and we qualified with a score of 94 and took 2nd place! If we qualify tomorrow and Sunday we will have our very 1st title! I am so very proud of my kid!

Tucker earned his RA today! We were first introduced to CARO Rally-O, so even though he is Canadian KC registered, it's a CARO title. He earned a 187/200 and the judge said he has nice heeling

Tucker earned his CD today! I am petrified in the ring so he was shown by our obedience instructor. Tomorrow it's just me and him!! Wish us luck

Sigh... not much going on with my pretty girl. She NQ'd in both trials in January, and retired with a BN, RE, and two legs of her CD. I got sick over Christmas, and it took three months to start feeling better, so we have done very little training in either obedience or tracking.

For Leo, we will start really working on obedience, and shoot for at least a BN and RN by the end of the year.
Since I got sick, Leo hasn't had much attention, either. We did start a beginners class this past week, though. The place we are training is AKC obedience oriented, so we will be working on the basics for Novice, and have the opportunity to do a CGC test at the end of the 10 week class.

For both dogs, I plan on continuing tracking training, and see about doing some CATs.

One thing we have accomplished is that Ilka has her CA and is working on her CAA. She is FAST. Leo has her first CAT under her belt, and has one leg of her CA. Now that I'm feeling better, I plan to start back with tracking. Speaking of tracking, I've heard that the AKC is going to be opening Tracking to mixed breeds. Yay!

Maybe it's time to start handling dogs for some busy owners. I love competition so much!

Revamping goals and adding new ones for puppy:
Lillie:
- Earn last RN leg
- Dedicate even more time to nosework
- Try coursing!
- Improve loose-leash walking and heeling

Roux:
- Earn STAR Puppy certificate
~~- Earn Novice Trick Dog Title~~ Done - title app needs to be sent in
- Earn CGC
- Get an incredibly solid recall!
- Work on a solid foundation for heelwork
- Give coursing a try, as well!
