I love this thread... so fun to see everyone's goals and progress! We have not made as much progress as hoped in the 2nd half of the year. Lucy is now singled out in conformation and just looking for her majors, so that is good but likely to be slow going given there are so few majors in my area.
We took at stab at RA a few months ago, but on the 1st day of the show I literally raced from the breed ring to Rally ring (they let me go at the very end of both A&B due to a breed ring conflict) and Lucy's head was just not in it. And the offleash heeling work was not so good. So I decided to scratch the rest of the weekend because I would have had the same ring conflicts every day of the show between breed and rally classes, and I really did not want her thinking she can get away with being naughty in a competition ring... At this stage we have a lot more work and proofing to do on offleash heeling before I go back to the ring for RA let alone Novice. Hopefully we can take it on later this year or early 2013.
And agility is at a stand still until the heat ends and we can get back to training, since we train outdoors...
Good luck to everyone on your 2012 goals!!

Wouldn't mind finding a trainer to work with, and get some hours in training dogs that are not mine, to see if that's really my goal or if I've just been fantasizing. | Hmm, revisiting my goals.
"Get more reliable behaviors" has been a definite success! Loose leash is fanastic and heel is improving nicely (on and off leash), we do "look at that" for super-interesting but verboten things.
Still no closer to the Intermediate trick title, as I'm lazy, and they changed the freaking list, so things we were working on became not useful for purposes of qualifying for the title.
No trainer, and haven't trained dogs not mine. A Petco is opening in town, though, either late this year or early next year (facade at mall pretty much done already), so we'll see where that takes me. |

| Ok, so I didn't participate in this thread the first time around but I'll join in now.
Get CGC (In class now, test is in 2 weeks!)
Find a new training club (I just moved)
Start classes in said new training club
Compete in something (probably Rally) at least once
Doesn't sound too exciting, but I just moved and am going back to school and will hopefully be working full time so things might be a bit crazy between now and the end of this year. Next year we will be more ambitious! |

| this has been a rough past year for me training wise - both of my trained and just getting into their groove dogs were forcibly retired due to medical reasons, and then i lost my main competition dog to DCM.
right now i only have littles - and quite honestly i didnt even train them very much when i first had them because it was too much - i didnt want to work dogs if they werent rah, i didnt want to go to class. im just now getting back into things.
i have no title goals this year - cherry is 1.5 and chill is nearing 1, but neither of them will be ready for the ring realistically, not in a competitive manner. i want them ready for next year most likely. chill is moving up to novice and cherry is going back to class - and both are in agility as well. berlin is starting back with nosework - i want them all to be active and happy.
so my goal is up active engaged happy working dogs.

Most important: More RELIABLE Recall training | I love this thread - reading about other people's training goals and accomplishments. Here's my update:
- Maiya passed ORT and earned her NW1 title. Training continues for NW2.
- She took her tracking certification test earlier this summer and just quit when she was over half way through. Lesson learned. Will try again when the weather is cooler. In the meantime, training continues.
- Decided to wait until next year.
- Other than a fun match, haven't entered any other rally trials.
- NEW GOAL: Continue to work towards Intermediate Trick Title.
Gio:
- Enrolled him in one rally class but he wasn't focused enough. Oddly enough, he did better in formal OB classes.
- We've taken several sessions of NW.
- He's an AKC STAR puppy.
- will most likely wait until next year.
- NEW GOAL: Continue conformation training. He now has 4 points (AKC). |

| Well, we have exceeded some goals for the year, but not met others.
Ilka got her RE this past weekend , but only got one leg of her CD . I am hoping to go to a CAT coming up in a couple of weeks, and hopefully get her CA. We will shoot for her last CD leg in January. I think we will try for an RAE, and then she will retire from the ring.
I've started tracking training with both Ilka and Leo, and am thinking about eventually trying IPO tracking with Ilka, and AKC tracking with Leo.
Leo will be spayed in December, and I will be applying for her PAL in January, so I need to start setting some more definite goals for her.

| Have exceeded all goals.
Mach 3 for Tamora
3 Double Q`s away from a Mach 4
Top 20 Doberman Agility
AKC National qualifier for this year and next year
AKC Invitational to Orlando in Dec. for agility (that wasn`t even on the list--a pleasant suprise though)
UD-one leg. Really would like the title this year. But Tamora is having a cyst removed on her left foot by her pad--so rest is required. I do have her signed up for one more trial, however she is on the wait list. So this goal may have to be pushed into 2013.
Atlas running in Excellent B (agility) I am very pleased with that. |

And can officially say 1 thing was knocked off our list! Jones got to Excellent A in Std and JWW. Next weekend hopefully we can earn that title!
