| Agility set? I was thinking about buying an agility set. I know Josie is too young for agility classes, but it would be nice to have a little practice area set up. She is awesome at the tunnel. She can be across the room, and i can say, "Josie, tunnel." and she will full sprint through the tunnel and then come sit next to me for her treat. She was funny the other day because even when i didn't tell her to, she would run through the tunnel and then come sit and stare at me. She wasn't too hot with the weaves. Anyway, what do you all think of this specific set? Other recommendations? Agility in A Bag Set (Dog Agility kit Combo Set with Carrying Bag)

| It's never too early to start familiarizing her with the equipment. Go for it!
Just be careful with not jumping yet and you might want to look into some different weave training techniques if she's leery of weaving right away.

| | Alpha | It is NOT too soon for agility classes provided they teach Foundation - flatwork skills, not obstacles (except for the tunnel and hoops). In fact it helps if you start them off as soon as possible on getting accustomed to the environment, seeing the equipment, seeing other dogs getting real excited and barking, getting onto buja boards and hearing the teeter banging away while you rapid fire feed her treats each time it bangs.
I have been known to do several foundation classes with a little break in between and maybe an obedience class or two. Each time it is a little different even with the same instructor but I have sometimes gone to different instructors. It also helps when looking for who you want to spend your course training time with when your dog is old enough to start jumping and learning weaves (18mths or so).

| If it were me, I'd pass onthe set, get started on foundation and ask your trainer where to get good equipment.

| Yeah, getting her used to all the agility equipment would be great! How old is she now? Louie started agility classes at 5.5 months old.
Going to trials is a good idea too let her get used to all the noises.
I personally wouldn't buy an agility set. It's really inexpensive to make most of the agility equipment. I made 4 jumps for less than 20 bucks. You can my a tire as well. Ebay I found a tunnel that's akc standard for 50 bucks.

I don't have any "equipment" to practice with, at home, but I still practice agility daily.
If I were to get equipment, which I will, at some point, I want to make sure it's sturdy and safe and won't give my dog a bad or confusing experience by falling apart or falling over on her, etc.
I'm not saying that set is good or bad--I'm not expert enough to evaluate it--I'd just rather have someone who is expert take a look at it and give advice, if it were me.
At some point, I'll likely build some equipment of my own--I do see the value of having some portable pieces, but I bet you can do that on your own, cheaper.
