Hi everyone

It's been so long since I've posted... glad to be back!

I'm planning a move from Florida to the Santa Clarita area of California with my Doberman and fiance. We currently own out here and haven't had to worry about breed restrictions, but since we'll be initially renting when we move out there I'm not really sure what to expect.

Is there anybody here from the Santa Clarita, CA area? If so, how lenient/strict are breed restrictions? Are there any specific community areas (houses, townhouses, condos, whatever) that are Doberman friendly? Any advice is welcome.... we're going out there after Thanksgiving to look around for a week and would love to go armed with some information

With insurance, a letter of reference from our vet, a letter of reference from our trainer, we've had no trouble renting houses from individuals (not property management companies) simply by paying the usual $300 per pet deposit in additional to the regular deposit.

We have two Dobermans.

Thanks for the response. We've been out here scouting and have run into trouble. It seems like the management companies definitely do not allow Dobes- and even finding places that allow dogs has been hard.

We're applying for one place now. Fingers crossed that they accept her.
