Hey everywiener and hooman!
We hope you are all well and had a lovely festive season Wink
It's been too long since we've been visiting here. Other than missing Tommie and Jessie very much, we are doing great down here in SA... Simson and Heino are still going strong, both had their teefies done recently and came through well.... just a little concern for Simson's liver and kidneys... Simson is 14 and Heino 12!
I got Simson Milk Thistle as a liver supplement but cannot find a trustworthy source of the therapeutic dose for dogs... Anyone using this? I converted the human dose on the label it to match Simson's weight, but some websites advises only 50% of the human dose for dogs? Any thoughts on this?

| I believe the recommended dosage of milk thistle for dogs not suffering acute liver disease is 75 to 100 mg per 10 pounds of body weight per day.

You can also look at the ingredients in Marin and Denamarin to find out the ratio of active ingredient to dog weight. Just google the medications - it used to show the full copy of the leaflet enclosed with the drug.

| I give Sweep a large dog Denamarin every day. It contains 425 mg of SAMe and 35 mg of silybin A+B or milk thistle.
