| Meet my new fuzzy pup! In three days I fly out to Ontario to pick up the new member of our family! I am kind of terrified at the whole idea of flying all alone and staying at puppy's breeder's house for the weekend, but at the same time I am also very excited!
Puppy doesn't have a name yet. I was thinking 'River' until I was talking to my Dobes' breeder on the phone last night and she thinks it might be too similar sounding to Ripley, so we'll see. Once I have her home and get to know her a bit I'll decide on a name 100%. There are a couple other ones I've been tossing around too.
She is 10 weeks old, born at the end of September (on my birthday! Not that that matters, but it's a fun fact haha). Her breeder doesn't let her puppies go until after 9 weeks. I am beyond excited for this puppy! There is a reason I'm trying to put all my shyness behind me to hop on a plane all alone to meet people I've never met and stay at their house LOL. I've loved Aussies for years and years, and really wanted an Aussie as my first dog back when I was just a kid. Then my Toller/Border Collie mix landed in our laps, and dad said no to a purebred herding breed of any kind anyway, and then of course I got Dance, and so this Aussie puppy feels like a dream come true. I am so grateful and thankful to her breeder for allowing me to have a puppy from this litter - I thought I might have to wait for her next litter, which would have been awesome too, but I love this litter and the timing is really good. Her breeder has been nothing but genuine and nice, and is incredibly thorough and my experience with her has been amazing thus far. The puppy she's chosen to join me sounds perfect for all that I've been wanting and hoping for a in a dog, and I am so looking forward to my future with her! I have all kinds of fun things planned.
I think she's pretty perfect! Her only imperfection is that she's not red haha. But colour was not a priority at all, and her breeder places puppies based on temperament of course. And funny enough, for as much as I love red dogs and was hoping for one of the red girls (the other three girls were red merle and red tri), I suddenly find myself enthralled with black bi and tri Aussies. They're so classy looking. I absolutely love everything about my puppy and am so excited to finally have her home. Here's hoping the flight there and back, and the stay at her breeder's house, all goes really well! I'm sure it will, but it's a nervewracking new experience for sure.

| Oh my goodness. She is darling! Aussie fan here, the second best dog in my life was Sierra, my blk tri aussie girl. I hope she is everything you wish for, I know Sierra was. Ginger is great dog too, my current 15 year old red tri aussie. I can be shy too and I went to spend the day with Sebastian's breeder when the pups were 5 weeks old, it was great. You will have a fine time, it's all about the pups and you can immerse yourself in that, helps with the shy stuff.

| I love her! Congrats!
My vet breeds aussies. Her last litter is just a few weeks older than Richter, so he's gotten to play with the adorable pup she kept for show. It's funny to see them together - Richter's ears are taped up and the Aussie pup's ears are taped down

I know logically that it will, but I can't help but worry anyway. I've never been one for sleepovers and eating at peoples' houses unless they're close family haha. But it sounds like the breeder has a lot planned for me and another puppy picker upper, so it should be fine and probably pretty fun. Quote:

MOAR pictures then! Please | Haha, yeah, no... no fuzzy Dobermans here. And I know! Her colours match all of my other dogs really well. And now I can line them up in a colour pattern for group pictures LOL.
Really though, I like all Aussie colours and would not have been disappointed no matter what colour she is. They're all pretty. And no good dog is ever the wrong colour! Quote:

I've had a three to four dog household since I was born so for me it's normal. Initially it'll take some getting used to again since puppy is so young, but once she gets used to the house and I get used to taking care of a puppy again, things should be just fine and just as easy as having the three. :-)
The only time I did get overwhelmed and did not like having four dogs was when they weren't spaced apart in age properly and were all young, bratty teens together. Now my guys are soon to be 6, 5 and 4yrs old and use their brains (most days lol) so I don't foresee any problem at all.

| Soooo cute. I love Aussies I think your breeder may be a client at the clinic I was a tech at for years. There aren't a lot of Aussie breeders around here (not good ones anyway) and we are "outside of Toronto near a small town" too, although there are a lot of those lol but we had/have a ton of clients who travel a bit to use the clinic I was at. We had one client who bred gorgeous Aussies (which could be totally different then your breeder, but it just made me think of her). Anyway, I've rambled (again), congrats. |
