In three days I fly out to Ontario to pick up the new member of our family! I am kind of terrified at the whole idea of flying all alone and staying at puppy's breeder's house for the weekend, but at the same time I am also very excited!

Puppy doesn't have a name yet. I was thinking 'River' until I was talking to my Dobes' breeder on the phone last night and she thinks it might be too similar sounding to Ripley, so we'll see. Once I have her home and get to know her a bit I'll decide on a name 100%. There are a couple other ones I've been tossing around too.

She is 10 weeks old, born at the end of September (on my birthday! Not that that matters, but it's a fun fact haha). Her breeder doesn't let her puppies go until after 9 weeks. I am beyond excited for this puppy! There is a reason I'm trying to put all my shyness behind me to hop on a plane all alone to meet people I've never met and stay at their house LOL. I've loved Aussies for years and years, and really wanted an Aussie as my first dog back when I was just a kid. Then my Toller/Border Collie mix landed in our laps, and dad said no to a purebred herding breed of any kind anyway, and then of course I got Dance, and so this Aussie puppy feels like a dream come true. I am so grateful and thankful to her breeder for allowing me to have a puppy from this litter - I thought I might have to wait for her next litter, which would have been awesome too, but I love this litter and the timing is really good. Her breeder has been nothing but genuine and nice, and is incredibly thorough and my experience with her has been amazing thus far. The puppy she's chosen to join me sounds perfect for all that I've been wanting and hoping for a in a dog, and I am so looking forward to my future with her! I have all kinds of fun things planned.

I think she's pretty perfect! Her only imperfection is that she's not red haha. But colour was not a priority at all, and her breeder places puppies based on temperament of course. And funny enough, for as much as I love red dogs and was hoping for one of the red girls (the other three girls were red merle and red tri), I suddenly find myself enthralled with black bi and tri Aussies. They're so classy looking. I absolutely love everything about my puppy and am so excited to finally have her home. Here's hoping the flight there and back, and the stay at her breeder's house, all goes really well! I'm sure it will, but it's a nervewracking new experience for sure.

Oh my goodness. She is darling! Aussie fan here, the second best dog in my life was Sierra, my blk tri aussie girl. I hope she is everything you wish for, I know Sierra was. Ginger is great dog too, my current 15 year old red tri aussie. I can be shy too and I went to spend the day with Sebastian's breeder when the pups were 5 weeks old, it was great. You will have a fine time, it's all about the pups and you can immerse yourself in that, helps with the shy stuff.

Thanks, everyone!

Thanks! I really hope it goes well. I know logically that it will, but I can't help but worry anyway. I've never been one for sleepovers and eating at peoples' houses unless they're close family haha. But it sounds like the breeder has a lot planned for me and another puppy picker upper, so it should be fine and probably pretty fun.

When I read the title I was like wut fuzzy doberman?

She is beautiful! I love Aussies myself as well. Now you have two black and two red/copper! Hehe Hope for a safe trip and back!

MOAR pictures then! Please :)
Haha, yeah, no... no fuzzy Dobermans here. And I know! Her colours match all of my other dogs really well. And now I can line them up in a colour pattern for group pictures LOL.

Really though, I like all Aussie colours and would not have been disappointed no matter what colour she is. They're all pretty. And no good dog is ever the wrong colour!

So adorable! Where in Ontario they located?
She lives outside of Toronto in the country near a small town.

I love her! Congrats!

My vet breeds aussies. Her last litter is just a few weeks older than Richter, so he's gotten to play with the adorable pup she kept for show. It's funny to see them together - Richter's ears are taped up and the Aussie pup's ears are taped down :)

I didn't know Lucy got a fluffy sister! How exciting. This is what happens when DT doesn't load properly at work. I miss out on a bunch of things! I just looked at some pictures of your pup and she is beautiful. :)

Soooo cute. I love Aussies :) I think your breeder may be a client at the clinic I was a tech at for years. There aren't a lot of Aussie breeders around here (not good ones anyway) and we are "outside of Toronto near a small town" too, although there are a lot of those lol but we had/have a ton of clients who travel a bit to use the clinic I was at. We had one client who bred gorgeous Aussies (which could be totally different then your breeder, but it just made me think of her). Anyway, I've rambled (again), congrats.

Thanks again, everyone! I am so excited for this puppy.

Haha, yeah, I guess the GTA is pretty big and my description wasn't very helpful! I think she lives near Milton - she has a pet food store there. She hasn't been breeding long. This is her third litter only. But she seems well known (in a good way) among Aussie people!

She is BEAUTIFUL! I love her colors! Awe, what a sweet little face! I hope I can meet the little dear after this awful weather clears up! :)!
Definitely! Maybe in the New Year sometime? Between puppy, work and driving lessons I'll have a lot going on, but I'll definitely find/make time to meet you!

Congrats!! :)

I'm in Oshawa, Ontario and there is a very good Aussie breeder located here. I wonder if it's your puppies breeder?? Anyways good luck with the new addition, you sure have an assortment...lol!
An assortment is what happens when different people in the house have different taste in dogs haha. But really, Dance and Aussie puppy were the only dogs sought out. And I don't think she and the Aussie will be overly different. I'm expecting more energy, quicker thinking/learning, friendlier with strangers (which is easy since Dance hates strangers) and probably a little barky, but otherwise I don't think they'll be much different. The Dobermans just happened by accident sort of (the good kind of accident, though!). They're not my usual type, but that's what happens when you become good friends with a breeder haha. You end up letting her convince you it's a good idea and take a puppy home - twice! Or maybe that's just us...

She's so cute! Congrats! That picture of her in the jacket is so stinkin adorable!
Her breeder took her to her store that day for a day of exposure/socializing and they put that jacket on just for fun. Poor pup was convinced she couldn't move LOL.

Good for you to go and tackle a trip like that all on your own!! It will be an adventure.....I'm sure the way there will be an eternity and the way home twice that. At least we have movies on the plane in Canada!! Take some headphones!!

I hope you have your DL soon, gosh four dogs on the bus....:roflmao:

I'm not too worried about the trip to Toronto. It should be ok. I'll probably read on the plane and will be there before I know it. Once I get there though things might be a little more stressful until I find the breeder at the airport, and then the whole sleeping over at her house for two nights is what has me more nervous than anything, but she's super nice so I am sure it will be fine. I'm a little worried about the flight back home though. Never taken a pup on a plane before and it's a pretty long flight (longer to come home than to go there). Hopefully she'll be ok! Good thing she's used to being crated, but a bag on the airplane will still be weird for her I'm sure.

And yeah, I hope so too LOL. I'm trying to learn! I don't tend to take all of the dogs on the bus ever though. Just one at a time. I'll take everyone on the train sometimes (cause it's more roomy) on off hours, but never the bus. The driver probably wouldn't even let me on with a pack of dogs. :roflmao:

ETA: Here's a new picture that her breeder took of her at puppy class last night!

Congratulations!!!! She's so adorable!

I understand your hesitations about staying with the breeder. I'm always a little nervous to stay with someone I don't know extremely well, too. I'm sure it will be fine once you get comfortable though! Have fun!
