The pain in Chuck and Dot's arse!

Tamiasciurus douglasii aka Douglas squirrel.

Better known as Doug, now Doug usually stays high up in the fir trees off the property and just hurls insults and fir cones at Dot and Chuck as they circle the tree but for some reason he came into their yard yesterday.

so Dot tried to get as close as possible while Chuck tried ripping roots off the stump....

then Doug got nervous and jumped onto a snag..

so Chuck and Dot jumped over to the snag too...

and when Dot and Chuck were distracted by some bird..

the pain in their arse got away.

Beaumont67, JobeyV and CRDobe like this.

LOL. McCoy generally has a very low prey drive. Crows, cats, raccoons, even coyotes. Meh.... He pays them no attention. (He thinks coyotes are well behaved dogs that don't bark or growl at him)

But squirrels? He goes bat s**t.

Go figure

I think Dot has some Treeing Walker Coonhound in her. Though I knew a beagle who would climb a tree up to the roof of a shed and sit there...rather like Snoopy.

Nice of Chuck to help her tree the varmint.

Squirrels here also cuss at the dogs Buddy and Patches had a system the squirrel would come down the Oak tree to cuss at little Patches. Buddy would be on the other side when the squirrel would get too low on the tree since Patches was a dachshund bam Buddy would get it. Buddy has had about 6 over the years. Since Buddy's hunting partner died he has a new pup to teach Queenie she just barks at them so far.Great Pictures have to tell them Buddy's plan.

Those are magnificent photos!!!!!
Firstly it shows the beauty of the Canadian West Coast, and secondly 2 wicked dogs!!! Took me a minute to realize Dot was way up on the roots. What a girl!! She is fearless! so wonderful watching Chuck and Dot have the life all dogs should have.

ps, how are the bugs? we've had sooo much rain.....bloody mosquitoes.....

Blood sucking bugs about the same as usual.

Luckily we have 2 families of swallows with nests full of young and a few little brown bats eating lots of Mosquitos. And the pond has schools of little mosquito fish eating the larvae.

But I do use bug repellent in the mornings.
