Neighor's DD's

DD stands for D@mn Dogs!

I was going to bump an old thread but decided to start anew!

I am really trying to be nice...

However, I was simply mowing my property line Monday night. Dominic was just haphazardly following me. Neighbors let their dogs out and the pack immediately charged the fence line. Dominic semi-listened as I was still on my mower with it running. Didn't even shut my mower off when I dove off it and sent Dom away from the fence line. By that time I was beyond pissed off. Guess what? They have been closing their gate, at least today they did...

I ordered a Dazzer immediately after that. I will try it out and let you know if you all should buy one or not.

A little old lady and her little dog were killed here in OKC a couple of days ago. By a couple of city, big, dogs.

What is a Dazzer ? Yes saw the dogs on TV Large Bully type dog in treatment for injuries the other was a grey pit bull. The 82 year old lady and the Papillon did not have a chance.

I remember your old thread about this. Ugh!! How frustrating for you and Dominic. When you can't even mow your own lawn without getting charged...

So hoping the Dazzer works!!! Keep us updated.

Got it today.

Guess I need to try it out before the "girls" go out. Their brothel is near the dog infested fence line.

Wouldn't want them all to prematurely lay itty-bitty eggs all at the same time!

LOL

Maybe I should play with it on Sunday! Then I could have my own Easter egg hunt!

I have all day Sunday and Monday to play with it...

Just so you all know! I spelled it incorrectly. It's a Dazer, not Dazzer. Their advertising logo is a bit misleading.

Came home tonight from work, Dominic was at the gate waiting for me. Pulled through and parked. The neighbors dogs were waiting halfway to the fence line. By the time I put the truck in park Dominic was on his way to challenge the fence. Neighbor's dogs then followed suit. By the time I got around my truck, Dom was on his way back to me. The DD's were still at the fence and when I turned around to try the Dazar on Dom, it worked. It was too late to try it on the DD's. They sent their kid out to call the DD's back.

This has to be done strategically and logistically. It's really more for keeping approaching dogs, at bay. Not for training. I think I will have to figure out another strategy. Maybe buy another one and have Alan ready to stop Dom first when I pull in. Yes he started it tonight. I don't blame him though, since they were on this property attacking him and one lunging at me. The Dazer will be put to good use when mowing the fence line. On all dogs involved in the feud, including Dominic.

The kid told Alan, one time, that the previous owners of my house shot one of their dogs, so there obviously is some history with the DD's here.

This is crazy!

All, I want to do when I get home is tend my property and enjoy peace and tranquility.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

My wife purchased the Dazer but I found it was unreliable on different dogs.

I finally ended up with the Diablo II Stun Flashlight, which has successfully deterred every rogue, aggressive dog ("DD") I have encountered, without any contact, just by the noise and sight alone at 15-20 ft distance.

New - Guard Dog Diablo II - 5000k Stun Gun + 320 Lumen Tactical Flashlight | eBay

It is a much superior design vs. the Diablo I and features a removable 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable battery.
The best feature is it looks just like a regular tactical flashlight that can be carried in a purse, pocket or belt carrier.

Too late for me to turn back now, Spock...

The DD's stupid people seem to be doing a little bit better about keeping their dogs under control.

All I want to do is mow my snakes!

I won't be able to keep up with it with my "wee mower", if I have to get off it, to correct a pack of dogs and Dom, as well. Why can't everyone just get along?

Had the opportunity to try the Dazer when I got home from work, Saturday.

Had my driver and passenger windows down and Dazer in hand when I pulled up to my driveway. Aimed it at Dom first. Barely fazed him. Then, the DD's charged the fence. Pulled through the gate and aimed it at the DD's. Took three zaps at them and four of the five went back to their house. The fifth was a defiant little Terrier. Zapped him a couple more times. I think he finally left because his pals were gone. So, you are correct Spock.

If the stupid neighbors only knew I was willing to foot the bill for a couple loads of gravel to accommodate both of our driveways... We are both at the end of the road. Nope, not now! Gravel is for me only, now...

Shame on them!

I am constantly picking up their trash that blows onto my property.

Alright Spock, you win.

Ordering the Diablo II.

Mowing again. Alan left to go get coop supplies. Dane Mix hinders my progress.

They keep sending the kid out to call the dogs back. I told the kid, "I want to talk to your Dad." Has he shown up yet?

Big fat no.

Stryker P., if you like your new Diablo II, then I would also recommend these accessories:

Spare 18650 Li-Ion 3400mAh Hi Power Battery:
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B00ANX46H2

External NiteCore D2 Intelligent Charger:
https://amazon.com/Nitecore-Charger-...dp/B00KW2ZDJO/

This way you'll can charge a spare battery out of flashlight while it's in use.
The Guard Dog company honors product's lifetime warranty, also.
I had to send one unit back which had front electrode damaged (from me dropping?) and I was sent another light promptly.

I got a flashlight for both my daughter and SIL who both encounter rogue (DD) dogs while walking or traveling in neighborhoods.

Maybe I donít get it and donít know the history.

Why does Dom need to be outside when you are mowing? If you donít want to get off the mower to pull your dog off the fence line against the obnoxious dogs ,itís an easy fix. Keep him inside when you are mowing.

Hoping you have more success with this. You'd think that after the issues with the old neighbors they'd make more of an effort to restrain their dogs. UGH!!!

Correct. You don't know the history.

And, why should we be charged by a pack of unruly dogs?

One of them lunged at me on MY property. The Dane mix. I am 100 plus pounds and 5.2 feet tall.

Do you think I should play around with that?

It's also.... Dom is basically a feral dog that Denny (StrykersPerson) decided out of the goodness of her heart not to evict (have trapped and put down) when she bought the property.

I could be wrong, but I believe Dom has never been in their house or corralled or locked up. He is fed and has shelter and they have a relationship. Lucky dog. Very lucky dog.

Thanks Tricia and STJ,

Well said.

It's not that I don't want to bring Dom in the house, but before I even attempt that, I've got to gain his trust enough to leash him and load him for the ride to get cleaned up an his nuts removed. He will probably run for the hills after I unload him, back home. I really don't think he will make a good house dog. I think he will go stir crazy in the house. Not saying miracles can't happen, my gut just tells me he's not an inside dog.

I see Tricia and STJ just made it home from the Tom Petty concert.

You, stoners, you...

LOL

Alan and I went. I love Tom Petty, but hate the claustrophobic environment of an event center.
