| Mr Sneads lucky day (Photos) I have written more about it in my blog...so I wont go into all the gory details here, but I have spent some time at our local animal shelter lately.
Today this puppy came in. (lets just say that they don't adopt out puppies, especially small breeds)
He belonged to an elderly couple and they just decided that they didnt really want him. So they brought him to the local "kill shelter" with all of his shot records and his paperwork. He even looked like he had just been groomed?!?!?! I choose the believe that they just didn't really know what to do... The man said his name was "Mr Snead"....and as funny as it sounds.....it is. haha. Even on his vet paperwork........"Mr Snead"
I knew if he was put in the computer his fate was pretty much sealed...once again, they don't adopt out puppies.
He is a purebred shih tzu puppy. I told them to give me his paperwork and I took him and put him in my car (I always have 2 crates in my car) I also thank god...always carry two sets of keys in case I have to stop anywhere...I can leave my car running with a/c going for the dogs, but still lock it. He stayed in my car with it running all day...he was never admitted and he came home with me. I just wish they could all be saved.
I knew it would not be hard to find him a home and if need be I would contact a breed rescue and foster him in the meantime, but it didn't even take 24 hours...my sucker of a mom (I think that is where I get it) snatched him up right away. He totally fits right in with her Bischon and Chihuahua. It was instant love at first sight. Her dogs took to him right away.
He is already neutered, and he is sweet as pie.
This was definitely unplanned...I sure did not have intentions of taking home a shih tzu today.....but I think it was meant to be.
I would say that today was Mr. Sneads lucky day.
Some photos of "Mr Snead" (Who my mom wants to name Gus, Duke, or Gavin)
At my house tonight
At my mom's. (His new home!)
After we gave him a bath. (He did have fleas)
I am so happy for the little guy...

| I would have done the same thing. Good job. What a lucky boy Mr. Snead is, I'm sure the old owners are very grateful also.

| Mr. Snead's lucky day indeed!!! He is such a lovely little guy, i can't fathom why he would be homeless! So glad he found a good, loving home
I've been wanting to volunteer at my local animal shelter FOREVER, but i still haven't worked myself up to it ... i just KNOW i'd be coming home with basketful of animals, and The Husband would probably shoot me on the spot haha. Your blog post on the shelter was so heart-wrenching and touching to read at the same time ... i'm so glad there are people like you still in this world
Here's to the beginning of Mr. Snead's good life in a loving home!
