New here and soon to be Dobie owner...finally!

Long time lurker and Doberman owner. I haven't owned a Doberman in 2 years because we put our 12 year old female down in March 2010 and our first Dobe died back in '04. Both of their passing was extremely hard on the both of us and we're still not over them. It's been really quiet in our house for too long. It was a nice break to concentrate on other projects and hobbies but 2 years has been long enough and we're ready to get back in the saddle again. We almost went to another breed to change things up but we ended up at the Minnesota Dobe O Rama to just enjoy the company of dobermans again and we got hooked all over again!

Currently we are awaiting a black and rust female from Sandi Hunter from Bruda Dobermans that was born a few weeks ago and we pick her up sometime mid Feb. We can't wait! We've been re-familiarizing ourselves with the training tactics again(we were VERY proud of our other girls training) and doing lots of new research on the breed pedigrees, history, and re-reading some of our books we bought before we bought our other two Dobes. One being Doberman Pinscher Today authored by Jimmy Richardson, which is a pretty good read for a novice. Anyways, read it over and learned some new stuff that I'm more interested in now than I was back in '98 when we first got into Dobes. My longtime girlfriend, Nickie is looking to get into some tracking and possibly some agility with this dog and is very much looking forward to this new challenge and I'm very happy that she'll be able to enjoy a new hobby with our new life long friend. Special thanks goes out to some of the local gals that have helped her along in both breeder recommendation as well as advice on training facilities. I know some of you post on here frequently. I'm lurking...I know.

Welp, that's about it. The wait is starting to get tough but we still need to get some stuff done before the house is truly ready for a new puppy and we're well aware that it's going to be somewhat of a shocker going from an empty house for the last two years and then before that a house with a well trained, old Doberman around that didn't really make much of a fuss except to give lots of kisses as often as she could.

surf n turf - I feel your pain:
- sounds like your story and extreme loss, somewhat resembled ours

Several weeks ago, we drove 25 hours round trip to also get a B&T female, from Sandi Hunter from Bruda Dobermans...enjoy the Kelly read:
- your in for a nice & fun puppy
Please welcome new baby girl - Bruda Around The World Kelly

We lost our beloved Amy at 11.7 y/o and there was 14 straight years between dober 1 and 2...just can't do without any more, so on #3 now.

Glad you guys joined DT, many close dober friends here.

------------Kelly & (Amy - RIP @ 11.7 y/o)

Thumbs up

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. One of us will have pics up as soon as we get down there to pic her up. I'm hoping Sandi took some photos of the puppies, too.

Beaumont, I'm happy for you and the new addition to your family. And yes, I saw the post and pics when you guys got Kelly. Adorable!
