| Hello from Cali- new family owned by a Dobie :)
Hello all, five days ago we picked up our first Dobie from a Doberman rescue and we are in love.  
We our family consists of a 16yr old Manchester Terrier, a 2yr old Maine Coon cat, and 7yr old and 10yr old boys. Our MT is about 20lbs and so old that she sleeps 95% of the day. So we were looking for a more lively dog to take camping and for walks with our kiddos. I had grown up with Dobies and really wanted one so I sweet talked the Hubby into 'looking at' some Dobermans. 
We contacted some nearby rescues and picked up "Grace" last Saturday. She is a beautiful red bitch, about 12-14mos old, with natural ears and a docked tail. The rescue found her at a shelter with one 8-week pure Doberman pup. She had obviously had a litter but only the one pup was with her.  The pup was quickly adopted out and the rescue picked up Grace, had her spayed and put her in a foster home. We were lucky enough to meet her and take her home with us!
She is a wonderful dog and everyone who meets her falls in love with her. Our 10 year old son loves to lay with her on the floor (a boy and his dog!), and we are looking forward to many family adventures with her. |
