Hello guys, my name is Aaron, and my girlfriend and I have had a Boxer for a while now, and since his old playmate went back with his original family, we were in the market for a new dog.

Long story short, I had a Doberman growing up, and convinced my lady to give a few liters a look. We finally found our perfect girl last night and couldn't be happier! She is 9 weeks tomorrow and is a love. We knew she was the one for us when she laid in our laps, and barked at any of the other puppies that would get near us.

Needless to say, we are very happy to be Doberman owners again, and I have always been a spectator on this site, and figured its now time to join the family!

Any great info, tips, etc would be awesome.

Yup. She is beautiful, although I have a soft spot for the red/rust dobies myself

I'm 22 and my boy pretty much fell into my lap. I have always been a fan of this breed and well... the rest is history and my boy will be 6 months this Wednesday!

Good luck with the name. Stay away from mythological gods and stuff- very over played with this breed

I mentioned your puppy's temperament in the other thread, but figured it would be better to post my response here.

In the sentence I bolded, you indicate that she was barking at the other puppies as a way to tell them to back off presumably. That behavior in a young puppy would be very concerning to me. I read it as early signs of resource guarding, which is a fear based response (fear of losing resources). I would never knowingly choose a puppy that is already displaying signs of fear in the one environment it should feel most comfortable in. She needs super positive experiences to improve her confidence and systematic socialization, meaning you aren't just throwing into the world without guidance.

I think people can read far more into a puppie's behavior than is really there. Most scientific based research tends to disregard puppy temperment testing as a valid predictor of adult temperment.

Nah, I"m sure that I am in no way diplomatic enough to be a mod.
It is, and probably forever will be, a pipe dream of mine.
Because, lets be honest, it'd be a little fun.

That being said, when he joined on his original account I found myself very bored (how that's possible with full time school, three jobs, two dogs, and a boyfriend I have no idea) and wanting to see more pictures of his puppy so I did some...erm...research and my findings lined up with things that he said in his first thread on his 2nd account.

Figured that he didn't like the reputation he had gained so far on his first account so he made a second. I'll admit, I was really curious to see what pictures he would have come up with when he got his new puppy (according to his thread on his second account) in four weeks.
