Hi, I'm Vicki, and I adopted a rescue dog, Houston, on Saturday. The Senior Doberman Project
Houston is our 3rd senior rescue Doberman, and 7th Doberman. We always have 2 dogs at a time so they have companions.
Houston is at least 10. Our other dog, Coya, is from Chile. He is our one and only Labrador. He was a gift from one of our former exchange students when we lost one of our Dobies. We've had Coya for 12 years, and lost our last Doberman, Lucky, just a month ago. Coya has lost 10 lbs, and has been absolutely miserable. He cried so hard he gave himself hiccups, poor guy. He's in love with Houston, and they're getting along great.
Houston came from a horrible hoarding situation in New York in July. We're the poor guy's 5th home in 5 months. We're his forever home, though. My husband and I are in our early 50's, no kids, and live in a small town in Ohio. |
