| Hello from Issaquah, Washington My name is Sheryl Schmidt. I lost my heart dog on November 6th to dilated cardiomyopathy. He was 11, just shy of being 12 years old. My family and I have had Dobermans in our home for the last 14 years. Our first was Jocko. He was abandoned by his owner at our veterinarian's office. My husband met him and said we needed to bring him home. Our second was Jackson, who just passed away at home in my arms. Our third was Colusa. She was our beautiful red-headed girl that we lost a year ago when she was six to Chronic Active Hepatitis. We've had other breeds but we keep returning to the Doberman and the Cocker Spaniel. We have a Cocker that is 16 mos. now and boy does she miss her Jackson!!! I show her in conformation. We showed Jackson when he was young but his main goal in life was to be at home on the couch with my kids (young then), so we didn't go far with that. We are wanting another Doberman puppy but was astounded at the prices I was quoted for a show prospect. The prices have doubled since we purchased Colusa in 2006. Anyways, this is a great site. I found it while researching who has puppies, but I guess I'll have to be satisfied with reading about my Doberman until the economy gets better because the $$$$ that folks are asking is way more than we can put out. Thanks for being here! |
