| Hi All !! I figured I would join this group because I love dobermans and I am thinking of getting one again! My first competition pup was a little red bitch, Sochain's Baroness Lady Hawke CDX. The high light of our show career was winning the Nov.A class at the 1987 DPCA National with a 193 1/2++. We never got the UD or went further as I went into the NYC Police Academy and started a family. I eventually wound up in the Bomb Squad and became the Kennel Master and Head Trainer. During all this time I had my work dogs (Labs & Bert my English Springer Spaniel), and our Bearded Collie-Oliver who passed about 5 weeks ago at almost 15 yrs. Oliver was my first Champion owner handled by me here in the states and a Canadian CH which he got with my mentor who owned his dad. It was a fun time I showed his dad to points here while he was being shown in Canada. I have decided that I want to get back into obedience and maybe agility and I want to do it with my original breed, my Doberman! I have not decided which way I want to go yet: rescue or breeder and if I go with a breeder do I go show or working? I am a glutton for punishment though as I want a blue or fawn bitch. My lab and ESS are both neutered boys so I definitely want a girl and I have LOVED dilutes forever! I love to show in breed as well but I'm not into breeding so its hard to find a breeder that is willing to let a show potential bitch go to a home where she will be shown but not bred and I like to handle myself! Yeah I know I want it all! LOL |

| I would go with show/performance lines if you are sure you want to do conformation also. I think most breeders will let a show bitch go without intent to breed as long as you guarantee you will show, etc. Finding ALL you want in a fawn/blue bitch though may be difficult.
welcome and congrats on your achievements with your first Dobe. The obedience ring scares me

| Welcome to the DT forum, at some point, I would really enjoy meeting up, as we're so close. I'm also looking for a dobie again, myself, and not exactly sure which aspects of showing/working etc, I'm more interested in pursuing.
nice to have you here, mfkelly66 |

| AmCan - some of our best doggie friends are from Montreal! My mentor in Bearded Collies! I am in Kings Park and while I was very active in dog show activities at one time, not so much anymore. I want to get back into training for trials and showing again.

| Welcome from TX!
I think you might have a hard time finding a blue/fawn available from show lines. Most, but not all, will breed away from the dilutes.
Since you're looking to compete in obedience and agility, I would try to find a breeder who has dogs that excel in performance. I've noticed that Kettle Cove in Mass. has been showing some blues/fawns.
