| | Lil Pup | New Guy in NC Morning all, I am just getting off work for the weekend, and have thought real hard about getting another dog. My wife already has two Min-Pins, but I want the full size version, hence the screen name. We did have a large Lab(135lbs) that we took in from my sister, but he passed a little over a year ago from cancer.
Not sure if I will actually get a dog or not, just really want to make sure I am getting a quality dog and I am not getting in over my head. I have always liked the Doberman breed, but have just now found out a few things about them I didn't know, American vs. European, the white gene, other breeders problems and such. So I decided to join this forum to help educate myself and maybe make a decision on what exactly I would like and would work well with me.
I have been looking at a post about NC breeders, but I am willing to travel to pick up the right dog too. I am thinking about a Euro breed, male, maybe a rust/tan or a black/tan. But like I said, I have really just started thinking about this decision, and have a lot of research to do. |

| Welcome We have lots of great breeders in our state, not any European "show" breeders I know of, however. Here's a great place to start your breeder search DPCA | The Doberman | Breeder Referral |

Playing or otherwise, our two dogs total about 15lbs, and love to run at full speed. It would definitely take some time getting them to learn limits of each other. |
