I'm adopting Annie, a dobie mix from my local shelter.
She's been to the shelter 3 times. The previous owners either never tried to keep her enclosed, or she's the worlds best escape artist. I'm very excited, but my husband is not (actually a little reluctant, he wanted to wait several more months).
During college I lived with my father & step-mom and they had a wonderful pair of dobermans that I fell in love with.
Annie is not trained, much. If you have a really great treat, and she's not distracted, she'l probably do a Sit. She pulls on the leash, badly - so at the Shelter's recommendation I've purchased a Freedom No-Pull Harness.
Question Annie is 62 pounds, and maybe 20" tall. They think she's around a year old. The shelter is also describing her as a Doberman/Lab mix. If that's the case... wouldn't she be a bit bigger/taller at a year?
I don't even have her yet. She's still at the shelter awaiting her spay surgery. I should be able to bring her home within the next week.
