Hello Everyone, I'm from Western Suffolk - Long Island NY.

This Sunday, we'll be bringing home a female 15 mo old, rescue,
that from what we've been told, has just been in circumstances
that weren't working out.

1. could not get along with the original owner's older Dobies

2. Is causing allergies with the current foster home's kids.

I've had 2 other Dobies, both rescues, but it's been over 10 yrs since we've been dog owners.

I'm feeling very lucky, excited and some degree of oh boy, about your typical 1 yr old's energy level, usually I've had older Dobies.


Is there anything left of the LI Dobie rescue that was then run by Wendy H. ? back in the 90's

It's looking quite possible, that this rescue opportunity, is no longer.
I have been unable to connect with the person I had been working with,
It may have a lot to do with the Hurricane Sandy, (coastal NJ)

If I wanted to make myself and our home available to Doberman Rescue organizations. Where would you suggest I post in the forums.
maybe this near miss with the NJ Dobie, was to teach me,
to slow down, and choose more carefully.

Hi, LI Doberman Rescue doesn't really exist anymore. You could contact Distinguished Doberman Rescue in PA. I've done a few home visits for them here in Long Island.
