| | Lil Pup | New Dobie Mom seeking advice Hi all!
I just got a little blue female. She is nine weeks old. I am wondering how much I should be feeding her. I can't leave it up to her or she'll never stop haha. I'm feeding Solid Gold kibble. |

| Well, when my baby was that age, I fed her 4 times a day. What are the recommendations on the bag? That is usually a good guideline.
We need pictures of your new baby! Congrats and welcome to the board! |

| I'd start with the guidelines on the bag and adjust as necessary (more if she's looking skinny and less if she's getting pudgy). When my boy was a pup I fed three times a day until he hit 6 months of age and then I started feeding only twice per day.

| | Lil Pup | Thank you. So are we talking about a cup of food at each feeding? I will post a photo in just a moment, gotta find photobucket :-) I appreciate your input. |

| She sure is a cutie! What's her name?
Don't feed a cup at a time yet. You don't want a porker!
What are the feeding guidelines on the bag? |

| | Lil Pup | I haven't named her yet. Have only had her since early this evening. I will look at the bag. I think I overGoogled. I swear I read that the guidelines on the bags were not a really good measure. I thought I'd read that in one of these forums. But I sure will use it, if you think that's the way to go. And not a cup yet- gotcha! Forgive me- I've always rescued adult dogs. I'm not very big puppy-literate. |

| It's hard to remember what the normal guidelines are! They grow SO fast. I do know that several smaller meals during the day are better at her age.
What's her personality like? Maybe we can help you name her. I have NO idea why... but Lily comes to mind when I look at her. |

| depending on the food and the puppy - at 9 weeks about 1 cup 3x a day is average. I still soften the kibble with some warm water for about 15 minutes first at that age.

| Another vote for softening the food with warm water. I think 3-4x a day is great for this age and about a cup per feeding sounds good too. |

| | Lil Pup | You folks are so kind. Thank you for all of these suggestions. I will definitely moisten her food. She's not really chewing it- just inhaling it. I can see how moistening it before feeding would be a big help.
Is "Sky" a really popular name? I am leaning towards that for her, unless you all have heard that one a hundred times. Be honest. I have some backup names lol (Jazz? Gaia? Mia?).
Her personality is very.......intense. Not a lot of "goofy puppy" in her, surprisingly. She is extremely focused, locks eyes with you and really seems to be listening, trying to cipher what we are saying. She is more pretty than cute. Just a very sophisticated little baby. Willful, sweet, intelligent. Like a doberman |

| | Lil Pup | Hi all,
Something strange is happening here. I think my email has been hacked/compromised. I did sign up for an account here, but it was to contact a user about her dog's (Tali) crop. I did not post anything in this thread. Stranger still- that IS a picture of my dog, Saber. Last night I got an alert from my bank that my account was overdrawn. Someone used my debit card number and overdrew my account. Maybe unrelated but it seems someone is mucking with me. Changing all of my passwords, of course. Thank you to those who tried to help "me" here. Off to an unusual start but it's nice to meet you, regardless. |

Most cyber criminals don't take the time to peruse forums and post pictures via photobucket.
