I have a 14 month Doberman that needs his forever home. This beautiful red Dobie is sweet and loving and he is UTD on shots. I took him for a soldier being deployed and Dobies just aren't my cup of tea. I don't have the time to spend training as he would need. He is crate trained, house trained and is great with other dogs and cats. Walks on a leash and is vert smart. He comes with a crate and crate bed, leash and harness, food bowl, blanket and 6 months of heart worm meds. He does have whip worms but is currently on meds to get rid of them. Re-homing fee of $300 to try and recoup some of my costs. Message me for some pics.
I know this may not be the place for this but I have no where else to post. If I can't get him sold I will have no choice but to give him to whoever will take him...
Instead of giving him to 'whoever will take him' why not surrender him to a Doberman Rescue? They will be able to screen and wait for the right home for your Dobe.
I tried to respond to this post, yet I can't. I would come off sounding condescending or just plain rude. So.... I am simply going to agree with DogsR4Life. Please rehome this boy responsibly.
Absolutely agree with the rescue idea. Where are you located? There are several Doberman Pinscher rescues throughout the US that will be able to help you!
OP, please let us know where you are located, we can direct you to a local Doberman rescue who can help you with rehoming in a safe way with the dog's best interest.
Let me make sure I understand the situation - the soldier doesn't expect to get him back?
Do you know the dog's breeder? If so, I would contact the breeder first to see if they will take him back and rehome him. That would be the ideal circumstance.
Please let us know more about the situation so we can better help you. If he belongs to someone else hopefully he can find another temporary place to stay while his owner is deployed.
Found this on Hoobly :2surprise: Seller appears to be located in TN. Anyone in that region able to reach out to this guy and attempt to get this dog into a reputable rescue vs being bounced around again?

Hey folks...let's make sure we are not shaming this person for coming to us for help. I think that a lot of people don't know what they are getting into with a Doberman and are in over their heads. He (she) is certainly not beyond reaching, and we can't do that when we make people feel terrible. I've also edited out the phone number in the ad...while it's publicly posted there, we don't need to readvertise it here.
Hopefully we can offer constructive help here for someone reaching out.
I 100% agree with the other posters' recommendations to contact the breeder or a rescue. You could find doberman rescues in your area by googling "doberman rescue TN" or by going to Petfinder and searching for dobermans within 200 miles of your zipcode. (Even if you can't drive that far to drop him off, many rescues will come to you to pick him up). You can click on the dobermans that come up (there will be a lot of dogs that say they're dobermans that aren't. I would just ignore those) and see which rescues have them and go from there.
There is also a great group called Dogs on Deployment, that will provide temporary homes for dogs whose owners are deployed. I'd also recommend contacting them if the person who left you the dog has the expectation of getting him back. Good luck!
