Hi all - just dropping a quick note to introduce Dodger. He's a rescue that found our home on 10/1/2016. Best guess is that he's a Dobe and was about 3 months old when we got him, making him closer to 9 months old now. Assuming my picture attachment works, you can probably see why we think he's Dobe. He's about 75lbs now, and probably half of that is his ears and 10 foot long tail, while the other half is his giant paws. He's come a long way from the puppy that the shelter told the rescue was a dachshund, had multiple disorders including ring worm, and was a couple hours from being put down.
Welcome to the forums! You will love it here and there is an endless wealth of knowledge. Dodger is adorable and looks full blood to me. What a ham! Mine is a half blood but he also possesses this tail you speak of that poses imminent destruction to any coffee table.
The car is a Nissan Leaf that I've owned for all of 2 weeks. I'm still getting used to the all-electric world, but Dodger seems to enjoy the back seat/cargo area :2smile:
I'm not the tallest person and he is quite a leggy pup so his tail is above shin level thank goodness. There is a man that lives on my street that has a Great Dane and rides around in a Suzuki Samurai! The dog looks bigger than the car lol but he stands in the back looking happy as ever.
He is usually more of a back and forth wagger, though it is with great conviction and has earned the title of "Table Sweeper". His ears are very confused on what to do, erect they're "antennae", then they fold in half to the "pocket knife", and when down he is affectionately referred to as the "dopey dobie" :grin2:. However I second the giant paws comment... which has granted my favorite term of the "Bear Claw"!
He is a sooo adorable and I love his harness, yes more pics giving the tail justice!
