| you know the expression - if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - it probably is a duck...
well... she looks like a doberman. If she glides around the yard in a uniquely doberman fashion (hard to describe) but that will constitute walking like a doberman. Does she incessantly whine for no reason, bark at you like "hey - I wanna play" and open her mouth and half whine/bark/moan like she's trying to talk? if yes, she's 'talking' like a doberman. Other giveaway behavioral traits: is she constantly wanting to be near you - no, stuck to you? can you go anywhere in the house alone? does she insist on going into the bathroom with you? is she constantly trying to walk between your legs? is she persistenly needy of human attention? does she lean on you while you are standing trying to do something? if yes - she's probably a doberman.

i can not see anything else apart from doberman in her what so ever! | Can I just make a small suggestion - if you ever plan to possibly share your bed with another human at some point, I would either start having her lay with you for a while, but then go to her own bed for the night, or else have friends, relatives, siblings, whoever might be at your house visiting or whatever, come and lay on your bed for a little while just to show her that other people can share your bed - so that one day, you aren't shocked to find she won't let anyone else sleep there! Could be weird! lois |

| Congratulations! And thank you for adopting!
She looks pure to me, I'm guessing they called her a mix because of the white on her chest - maybe the tail not being docked too. Around here, we have shelter workers coming up with some pretty wrong calls on the breed of dog - I suspect it happens everywhere.

| She's very cute! Welcome.
I think shelter workers want to kinda protect themselves too. If someone adopts a "Doberman mix," and then finds out their puppy is in fact purebred, usually it's a nice surprise.
Not so much, the other way around, if they've touted a pup as "purebred," especially without proof or documentation--well, some adopters might feel a tad bent and misled, in that case.
I think it's safer for them to just label "mix."
Either way, thank you for giving her a home, and she is adorable.
