Hi from Calgary, AB.
We have a six year old female doberman that was rescued by a local breeder from a rural shelter where she had been surrendered. According to her vet records, it was her third home (she was three at the time).
We had just recently lost our first dobie girl at 12 from a suspected stroke in combination with wobblers.
Our new girl Stormy has severe allergies to dust, dust mites, cats and alder trees. It took a couple years to get to the point of allergy shots, which has really turned her, and our, life around.  Prior to that, it was the steroid route, followed by cyclosporine.
I look forward to reading about other dobies on your forum, I can never get enough. I usually hang out with the dogs (we also have a GSD) on the weekend at the breeder who does their toes, just so I can be surrounded by dobies of all sizes ! |
