Hey I been wanting a doberman for the longest time already. Hopefully in a few weeks I can save enough money to get one...cant wait. Anyone from oc or riverside area that can educate me or guide me through getting one in the future message me up please haha.

| Hi Andy - Welcome from Poway, south of Escondido. Before you jump into buying a Dobe, read this entire forum, read the information on the AKC and DPCA sites, and really know what you want. Consider rescue. Think about the time and energy and space you have... and the large commitment of yourself a Dobe requires. Are you looking at local breeders, rescue sites, NO puppy mills, BYB's, pet stores, etc!! Good luck! Lois | |

| I would strongly recommend a rescue. Our new boy Gunner is a rescue and he is just wonderful! With all the housing troubles we're having in the country today, many people are left with no other option but to put their pets up for adoption. It's sad that another's misery can become your good fortune, but if you look at it from the pet's point-of-view, it is the next-best thing for them.
