Hello All from Eastern NC

I am newly registered but I admit I have been lurking around reading this forum for weeks. Well I have never owned a dobe but have been an admirer of the breed since I can remember. (I grew up with APBTs). My bf and I "co-own" Kinsey, a 4 y.o. Dutch Shepherd (speculative) mix who came into our lives unexpectedly. She was a stray who he found at work and no one claimed her so we kept her. Now I couldnt imagine my life w/o her. I reason I have been doing a lot more research recently ab dobes is that we used to have another dog, my bfs 14 y.o. shih tzu, who crossed over the RB in May. And he wanted another dog that was "his". Since we have been together, I have turned him over to dobes (and large dogs in general as he used to be frightened of them). I, myself, have not been in any hurry to get a dobe as I am willing to wait and search for a great dobe from a great breeder. I have gone to a lot of sites but I have not learned 1/10 of the info that I have gotten here in the past few weeks. So for that I thank everyone. We have had an experience (I'll leave it at that) with an eastern NC breeder which I will share later in the appropriate thread. I am not trying to write a novel here just wanted to introduce myself!
