| Teaching a new trick I strive for one new trick a month, it keeps us busy during cold, wet days.
We have mastered last months trick: Who's There? (Bark on command)
This month I would like him to learn: Cover Your Eyes
With past tricks I have been lucky and found great video tutorials and the method of teaching was compatible with Chase. However, I cannot find a good tutorial on how to teach your dog to: Cover Your Eyes.
Can anyone help?
NOTE: Ive tried sticky tape, packing tape, bows, labels, and peanut butter to stick on his nose (to be able to mark the movement) but none stick!
Here is the tutorial Ive been following so far, although, the tape does not stick:

| You know once I did get something to stick after about 10 minutes of fussing with sticky notes/tape/tape& sticky note... I finally got it to stick... you know what Jones did? Walked around with it on him...
All I wanted to teach him is "Are you sad?" pretty much the same concept

| Haha, that's what Bret did. I tried to teach him to shake and put a post it note on his head above his eyebrow. Left it on there! Dang dogs!

All I wanted to teach him is "Are you sad?" pretty much the same concept | I was teaching Elka "Are you sad?" and made the mistake of telling my housemates before it was done. So they would ask her like, five times, and then she didn't do it and they would just walk away. So, cue ruined. She would still raise her paw, though, and that's how we got "Testify!" |

| I used the same method. I used tape and found the only way for it to stick was to use a longer piece and not roll it, but just stick the whole thing on his snout. You have to change the piece so it gets kinda frustrating. There is another technique out there that I found on YT where you hold the dog's paw and lure his nose under it. We tried this but didn't stick to the trick.
Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFgz2xIpDHI |
