| Schutzhund Training I don't know much about Schutzhund Training and was hoping that someone here can give me the info that I need as far as price, is it worth it and even if where I live here in Charlotte, NC even offers this kind of training. Thank you in advance. Happy Thanksgiving to all. |

| | MOATS | Pricing varies greatly based upon who you train with, how you train (club versus private), how often you train, and geography. I'd contact the folks of the Working Dobermans of the Carolinas, they should be able to help point you in the right direction as far as local resources.

| I suggest checking out a few clubs. Sometimes it can mean a bit of a drive as well. In terms of if it is worth it only you can figure that out. There are a lot of factors, including whether your dog has the ability to do it in the first place. I have some friends that have a club as well, that are experienced Doberman handlers... You can checkout the Sch USA site and see different clubs. The one I know of is:
Western Carolina Working Dog Assoc.

| I've heard good things about the Piedmont Schutzhund Club (Mt. Ulla) and the Fayetteville Schutzhund Club (meets in Godwin, I believe). A friend of a friend takes her Boxers to the FSC and is really happy with how the club works. Both clubs are open to all breeds and very willing to work with you. |

| Thanks Lillie, I heard of both of those and Fayetville is 3 hours away, quite far. The one I found in Wingate N.C is close to an hour, which is doable. I'm hopeing to get involved with that one. |

When I first checked mapquest it state 4.5 hours but that was to a place in Virginia. |

| There's a club in Statesville. I think it's Brushy Mt or something. Check out the USA(United Sch club of Amer) site for clubs.

We'll see!! | Some people may disagree with me on this, but even if she isn't capable of handling the bitework, there are separate obedience and tracking titles that almost any dog could do with the right training. A BH is also a great title to get for basic obedience.
In addition to being able to do something fun with your dog, if you get hooked on the sport, when you are ready to buy a dog capable of the protection phase, you will have shown a strong dedication to the sport and you'll be a leg up on the obedience and tracking with your next dog. The first time is always the most difficult! |
