I love Cesar. He just has a way with dogs that can't be taught. It's a natural instinct.

I could watch his show for hours.

Yeah I think he has done far more GOOD things for dog owners than the few negatives i hear crop up when people mention his name. I've actualy talked with people that have said.. i've seen cesar... i dont have time for a dog and i dont want my dog to end up "crazy" cause i cant take care of it!

YAY for that!!

I went to a seminar a while ago in Seattle and I have to tell you he is the nicest person you will meet and has the most calming energy. I managed to corner him and spend a few minutes chatting about rescue and coming to Vancouver, the thing is he truly cares about dogs and humans and when he talks to you, he talks to you. He's a real genuine person. He really is a hoot too.

That is the reason I have dogs..to help me relieve stress from my day and come home to something loving and that I can cuddle with...lol
Sorry , I still love to watc his methods though.
I dont think that is what he is saying- keep in mind Cesar only works with dogs that have problems- and sometimes walking past the dog will help an excitable dog calm down and become more balanced. If your dog is just fine behaviorally with you coming home and making a fuss over him then no problem with it at all!!

I think his show is especially good for people who let their dogs take over their households...No discipline at all.I think what his is trying to convey---Every dog, no matter the size needs exercise, and a calm assertive owner. If you can do that you have a great dog.....

I also love Cesar. But just as the show warns at the beging do not try this at home... You have to take what you will from him. He is a professional trainer so I'm sure the average dog owner can't do it like he does. I live by his rules of excercise disipline then affection. Excercise is a very important part of a dogs behavior. We all love our doggies and it so importantly helps them live a complete and happy life when we work with them in the right sequence and workk that energy out of them.

I love Ceasar. I TIVO'd every episode and watched them all. He is awesome and I don't think I could have handled Q had I not watched him. I could use him for a few issues to train my husband. Ha-Ha.

Quote:
I am not sure what flooding is but when he does the alpha roll he doesnt use a lot of force, he basically just touches the dog and it rolls, he also doesnt hold the dog down, it just lies there. So I dont think he is out of line at all.
I totally agree with this.
He also admits to getting bit a lot.

Anyway, I don't want to debate, just to say I Love him and his attitude and how much he cares. I have seen him admit that he is not sure how to help a dog, till he spends more time watching them to see how the dog acts and reacts. I have seen him admit that something he tried did not work so he tried something else that did work.

If he was closer to me I would send him a video and beg him to come work with Q and my husband. I've done ok with Q but could sure use help training my husband on how to not encourage bad behavior in Q.

He may not be for everyone but he is sure for me.

I do realize that I can't do everything he does, but I can do enough of it to help me. I have had dogs my whole life and learned that I have done many things wrong. Thank God he shares what he knows with the rest of us who are not a natural at it.
