| Clicker Training Treat Tips We just started Diesel at his clicker training courses this past weekend and the trainer told us to use treats that are of very high value to the dog. I was just wondering what some of you found as useful treats to keep them interested. Thanks for any input. |

| i was at petco last night and saw a trainer using some liver treats.....i tried to get close enough to watch but the dog she was training was going nuts over seeing bane, so i could tell she was getting frustrated with me being there so i just went about my business

| String cheese - it gets greasy though but is easy to work with when you use it fast

| Sliced turkey hot dogs (I don't microwave mine), ham cubes (the pre-cubed kind), sliced fat-free string cheese, pre-cubed cheddar cheese cubes. For the food that comes pre-cubed, I always cut them in half so I have double the amount. You can freeze the hot dogs and ham if you don't use all your treats and then just thaw them for the next training session. I did this when I used these high-value treats for our weekly obedience class. |

| Cubed very small low fat cheeses.
Cocktail weiners in a can, cubed small.
chicken breasts, plain and microwaved, cubed or cut in strips.
liver treats.
jerky treats, I dehydrate my own and use only with training.
any left over dinner meat, i.e. roast beef, chicken, lamb, pork, cut small.
Hot dogs.
Turkey dogs.
Salmon treats.
My two loved all of these and they worked great at class. I just cut up 3 or 4 different varieties and put in zip lock bag and took them to class. If I didn't use all the cooked meat, I just froze it for the next class.

| | Alpha | I find that very small pieces of raw carrot does wonders. Though, my baby eats anything I put in front of him! Lol! |
