Age & Training?

At what age can I start a Basic Obedience class with Apollo? I will pick him up from the breeder saturday, he's almost 9 weeks old. I took Athena through Basic and Advanced training, but I got her as an adult.

Do I have to wait until Apollo is a certain age before I take him to a class? If so is there anything I can start doing from day one to make him a better student? At what age can I put a pinch collar on? Not necessarily to use it, but to get him used to wearing one?

Anything else I should know about training from a puppy?

Usually they have to have their puppy shots. Vader just started class last week. He will be 4 months thursday.

start training at home.. sit, down, stay, leave. etc make it fun and only 5 to 10 mins a couple of times a day.. you will have to get in touch with classes to see when you can take him but all shots will be needed first !!

some trainers just require one or two sets of shots for puppy classes. You'd have to check around and see what you feel comfortable with. I think FiFi had 2 rounds when she started classes....
