| Is a cowlick considered a fault? Roulette has a cowlick on back of her neck, it runs the length of her neck. Someone told me that it is considered a fault when showing. Not that it will disqualify her but if it comes down to her and another for first, she would place lower. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Thanks. |

| Only minor. If it's a nice dog it won't stop them from winning.

| | Alpha | No, it is not in AKC- there are other things MUCH more important when it comes to evaluating the dog. Don't worry about it and learn to trim it properly. It isn't a problem.
This bitch had a cowlick and made it very very far Dobequest og Profile Page
Taken from Dobequest:
Sera still hold the record for the Top Winning Working Group Bitch in
history and the Top winning Doberman Female in history. She had 99 All Breed Best In Shows
And was BOB at many of the top shows in the country as well as at the
National.

| Depends on the Judge. If they dislike cowlicks themselves it could make the difference. But, in North America it is not a disqualification. Some find it undesirable because the standard states that a proper coat should be smooth, tight, hard, close fitting. I appreciate a good dog of any color or sex, a cowlick is just a cowlick. |

| I have bred multiple cowlicks in the last 3 years. And it's going on to the next generation. I've never had any judge make a bad comment. They might say something jokingly when I keep bringing them in on different dogs but never have they said anything about them in a bad way. |

| No cowlicks aren't considered a fault by AKC or CKC standard. The ones down the center of the nose can be a bit distracting though but should not be penalized.
