First day of obedience school

Last night was Roulette's first obedience class. After the initial shock of all those dogs in the room and not being able to play with them she was really good. We learned sit, down and heel. I had started her at home already so it was a bit easier for her. She did really well. There was another dobe in class, not very friendly growling at everyone and everything the whole time and shaking like a leaf, poor girl was scared to death. I didn't get a chance to speak to the owner yet, I would like to know the background on her. Unfortunately, it's dogs like that the give the rest of the dobes a bad name. At least she is enrolled in classes and maybe that will help.

You're right, at least the owners are taking the initiative to take her to class. Too bad she is so scared though. Hopefully you'll be able to talk to them next time and find out what her story is - and tell them about DT so they can sort out her problems!

Also what schoool is it can you give me a web address or some information on it. I live in Manhattan and will be looking for a school for Romeo in a couple of months. Thanks!

I found the instructer through Riverhead Kennel Club, the classes are in Hampton Bays. They rent space in a church and only have classes one night a week. I love the trainer, she's great. I took Vegas there also. They work toward showing obedience,rally and utility. I don't think there is a web site. PM me if you would like the phone number. It would be quite a drive for you from Manhattan though.

congrats .... and dont give up there is always some up and down in training ... you wont regret it .... youll be proud when youll walk in streets with your dobe by side ....
