Patches Mom

I ran across a lady while out on the scooter I had stopped to water Buddy & Patches. She was telling me that during the winter she taught her dog all kinds of crazy tricks just for them to have something to do. She told me she taught her dog if she says danger-danger the dog stops what ever it is doing a does a sit stay and does not move until told to. She said she thought of it after a previous dog had run out the door and was hit by a car.I thought it was a good idea so thought I would pass it along.

A good stay command would have done the same, and is shorter. Another good thing is the hand signal with the down command. Say your dog gets away and is on the other side of a busy street and you don't want to call him, but he is to far to maybe hear. Give him the hand signal down, then walk across the street and get him.
