Mom and I say the lines along with the crew - we LOVE watching it over and over. It's got such great music and the food sounds good (lots of chewing sounds at the dinner table which makes us hungry, lol!).

Off to the eye doctor with mom (she's the patient for a change) and then to my radiation appointment this afternoon.

One of my friends surprised me with a Bath & Body Works care package, which was so nice!

The scene where he turns the sub straight into the oncoming torpedo! And no one knows what he's doing, but they follow his orders. So good.

And then, when the other sub commander tries to play it fast and loose, with a not-so-good result.

I love that movie.

Shawshank Redemption, SlingBlade, Stand by Me, Fargo, all also movies I will watch over and over.

You know, I have yet to see SlingBlade, but it keeps coming up in conversation around me....

I've watched Fight Club an uncounted number of times. And the first season of the Deadwood tv series (we got the first season first, you see, and then Ihad to watch it again when we got season 2....and then season 3....and then a friend hadn't seen it, etc. etc.)

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Amanda.

In regards to being cold, try taking a hot water bottle to bed with you. They are wonderful. Even great when you are watching tv. Hug it or plop it on your tummy.

My father had cancer and his feet and hands were always cold. He sat inches from the fireplace to warm up.
Also a bath seemed to help.

Continue to rest.
There are many of us thinking about you.

Thanks everybody! I am so enjoying all my electric blankets but the hot water bottle is a great idea as well! I walk around in 3 layers of clothes most days and am generally warm enough.

We are going to have lunch with another work friend today so I am looking forward to that.

I ordered some more long sleeve t-shirts yesterday because I only own a couple and I am finding they are a great layer under a sweater or sweatshirt. I like the long ones so they don't come untucked from my jeans. I only brought a couple of outfits up to my dad's so today we are going to swing by my house to check the mail and grab a couple of things. I may switch out a sweater too, and grab some movies.

Tonight is my tv night and I think it's going to be movie night! I love my X-Men movies but I don't think my parents would like them so we'll have to think carefully about what to watch. I also liked Sling Blade and Fargo but I need a happy light movie so we'll see what we come up with.

Meeting with the dietitian tonight after radiation so we'll see if she can give us any help with meal planning. We've been doing well but could use some more ideas.

Yesterday I was getting a coughing fit while inside the radiation machine bolted into my mask; it was all I could do to control it until the machine stopped and they pulled me out then got my mask off. They did give me a cute valentine lollipop that was very tasty!

Thanks. I hate the subject too but I am actually staying positive and seeing the humor in it so don't worry, I'm not wallowing in self pity here. I hope any information I share can help someone else in a similar situation. I am trying to get involved in a brain tumor support group (it is really hard to find one for brain tumor patients specifically!) online with discussion boards to share how we are dealing with symptoms and side effects. I really find it helpful to share tips and ways to deal with things like meal planning and day to day activities.

We watched The Incredibles last night! I love love love that movie and it was fun. Today my best friend is coming to visit so I have something to look forward to after physical therapy.

Have a great weekend!

We had a great time and went hat shopping yesterday! I got a great hat that is fashionable rather than cancer girl looking; I am really happy with it. After I posted yesterday morning I took a shower and washed my hair and it started coming out in large amounts. I probably lost about 4 times what I would usually lose in a day. It seems like every time I touch my head more hair comes out so it was definitely time for the hat.

Not really happy that I am losing my hair now but we'll see how it goes; I may have to cut the rest shorter to make it less noticeable. One of my Facebook friends suggested a hot pink wig so I may do that and have some fun with it! We'll see.

ooh - i think a hot pink wig sounds neat - heck, you could have a pink one, an orange or maroon one, a green one for St Patrick's day, etc. you can get some cool bandanas and be a cancer biker chick... your attitude is excellent! your hair doesn't matter (i have VERY thin hair, and have for decades... it used to really bother me, but now i figure who likes me likes me for what's inside my head, not growing out of it! LOL!) hugs!

I have a knit hat that they gave me at the cancer center that I sleep in. I bought a really snazzy fedora type hat that I've been wearing outside (it has been really cold lately). My hair is coming out more and more; we are almost to the shave it stage

Doing well other than that for the most part. Today we have the brain tumor support group. It is a discussion format this time (no presentation) so I am hoping to get to know some of the other members and we can share experiences and tips. It has been hard to find a brain tumor online group for patients but I am still looking into it.

I made my world famous brussels sprouts last night and we all had seconds, plus my dad had a third helping. Yummm! We had it with a German pork roast I got from the recipe thread on here a couple years ago and have been meaning to make for a long time. It was also delish (I think the recipe came from Darkevs originally but I could be wrong) and the sauce from the roast over rice was super yummy. I'm so glad I have not lost my taste for good food and am so fortunate to have my family here with me so we are doing some good cooking!

Update from SoCalGirl

I found these but I'm sure you have also but just in case. I will look some more though, kind of an obsession for me to research stuff on the Internet.

Also I LOVE Brussels sprouts so if you get a chance from trying to heal and all that boring stuff, lol, do tell!

Amanda, I love brussel sprouts, how do you make them? Wegman's carries them roasted in their basting oil, yum.
