| I just saw this and would like to offer my prayers to you for a healthy outcome. As a little encouragement, a good friend of mine, who I have known for about 8 years went through the ame thing as you. It was at least 4 years ago, she had to have surgery, she had one breast removed, went through chemo, and then later had her other breast removed as a preventative. I read you are having both done at the same time, that will give you peace of mind that it wont return. My friend said she was a huge ball of worry and stress until after her second surgery because she worried about it coming back. Once she finished with chemo she got better, and grew her hair back and today is very happy and healthy! There are many organizations out there to help with so many things, and our cheer team does charity for several cancer charities. One thing I cannot stress enough is dont worry about the small things! When you start chemo, when you notice your hair coming out, go ahead and shave your head! They say bald is beautiful and women you will be beautiful!! You cant stress about your appearance or anything, you have a husband who supports and loves you no matter what. Concentrate on getting better.
I will keep the prayers coming for you and please keep updating as often as you are able but dont make that a top priority. Make healing your number 1 thing!

I'm really not all that concerned about losing my hair or anything like that. It's funny how your perspective changes when something like this happens. I don't mean that this is a funny situation at all but you do learn to not sweat the small stuff in life. My hubby has been great. I'm so thankful for him. Although I should have never made fun of him for going bald. His hair is only thinning but I will be bald before him. Oh well though. Anyway thanks so much for the prayers and everything. |

| | Alpha | Two days until surgery. I'm getting a little nervous but God has provided me with so much comfort so far and I know He won't let me down. Oh and they finally got the results of my gene test and it was negative. Praise God! One thing I hate though is I can't shave after today. I think they just meant my armpits but I'll ask the plastic surgeon tomorrow if I can shave my legs. I have to go see him tomorrow to get markings. I also can't wear deodorant on Tuesday but I will shower and use lots of antibacterial soap that morning. Hahahaha! Please pray for my family and my doctor's as well as we prepare for Tuesday. Thanks for everything DT! |

| | Alpha | Urgent prayers needed Man I hope this isn't too soon but after I had to have my bilateral mastectomy I was watching a special on Nat Geo on the Galapagos Islands and I fell in LOVE with these!
And here's to us!
I hope when you find yourself bored, which you will find yourself a lot, that you will humor me and research them. They are amazing and hilarious!
Going to the islands are now on my bucket list because of these birds, and the giant Tortoises. Below will be me some day when I beat the diabetes a bit.
I sure hope this brought a little smile to your face and please forgive me if it is too soon. Either way I hope your surgery went well and your pain is manageable.

| | Alpha | Hey DT, surgery went fine. The surgeon's were both pleased with everything. They only had to take the sentinel nodes and I had two. The nodes were clear. The left breast was clear and all the surrounding tissue was clear, so thank God for the good pathology report. I will follow up in a couple of weeks with my regular surgeon and get things set up with an oncologist. I'm pretty sore as you can imagine but I'm hanging in there. Please continue to pray for us as we continue this journey. Thanks so much for everything! |

I think they may have the Nat Geo boobie segment on YouTube. Quote:

| | Alpha | Thanks again everyone. Today is the fifth day after surgery. I haven't taken any pain pills this morning. I don't like how they make me feel like I'm in a fog. I'm pretty sore but I'm not in extreme pain so I'm going to see if I can get by without taking anything for awhile. I'll take something later if I need to. All in all we're doing pretty good. It sucks not being able to do much but I don't feel like doing much right now anyway. My hubby and parent's have been wonderful taking care of me and our dobes. I hope to get my drain tubes out early this week. Thanks for reading and for caring. |

| great to hear things are going so well. Just remember to follow doctors orders and dont try to do things too soon even if you feel good enough. I know its tempting to try but you should rest!! Take care and keep getting better!
