The radiologist said the lump felt soft and moveable but it is a solid lump about 4 centimeters or so. I thought it felt firm but I'm no expert obviously! I do not know how I didn't feel it sooner. We aren't telling a lot of people until we find out for sure what we are dealing with. So I'm coming to DT to ask for some prayers. I know what will be will be, but I need all the help I can get. | | Alpha | We got some good news today. The breast MRI showed no surprises. My other breast is clear. The lungs, upper abdomen, breast bones, top part of backbone and ribs were all clear. She also said that the lymph nodes showed no abnormalities. They will still test lymph nodes at the time of surgery. They always do that she said. I meet with a plastic surgeon tomorrow and then he will consult with my regular surgeon and they will schedule surgery together and we will go from there. Praise God for the good results today!!! I will continue to keep you all posted. Please continue to pray for us. I can't thank all of you enough. |

| lots of good thoughts and healthy vibes for you. mastectomies are far different now than they were even just a few years ago. i have a good friend who is currently going through this, ad she chose to have a bilateral mastectomy, because breast cancer is fairly strong in her family, and current practice, in some cases, encourages preventive intervention. anyway, with both the amazing diagnostic tools available now, and the incredibly accurate and precise surgical techniques, the outcomes are just amazing. that said, one of my grandmothers had breast cancer in her early 40's, in the 1940's - she had a mastectomy and lived to be an old lady! so be positive - and use whatever you need to, to get good sleep - you need your rest, good nutrition, vitamins and probiotics for excellent healing, and a positive attitude. oh - consider looking into 'guided imagery', a technique that helps boost your immune system through a type of meditation. knock those cancer cells on their ASS!

| | Alpha | Just an update: I am going in for my double mastectomy next Tuesday. They have to do a sentinel node biopsy first and then surgery. It'll be a long day for sure, but I'm so thankful that the hubby and my parent's will be there with me. We are going to board the dog's for about a week, which I hate, but we're all going to need to get some rest. |
